We have had the Weber Baby Q for 8 years, still looks and cooks as new. Liked it so much, I got rid of the Jenn Air at the S&B and bought another Weber. It may not cost as much, but it cooks 10X better than the high $$ grill did.

The only thing I "might" upgrade to is a pellet smoker, but I would have to see one with reviews for good grilling as well.

Had a Weber Q for a couple of years. Nice grill but wanted something a little more versatile. Camper buddy won a Camp Chef two burner setup that had the versatility I was looking for and he sold it to me at a price that fit my budget. Bigger and heavier than the Weber but it fits my needs. I use a tee adaptor on the coach mounted propane tank before the coach pressure regulator and a high pressure hose to feed the grill.

I liked the Char-Broil Grill-2-Go TRU Infared grill that I bought for the Anthem on the road so much that I bought the same grill to replace my much larger Char-Broil grill that I have at the S & B. It is big enough to do what needs to be done for 2 people (all that eat in the coach 98% of the time). It is easy to use, doesn't take up half the basement like some cookers and grills do, and is able to turn out first rate steaks and other grilled food. Take a serious look. I am not trying to cook for 50 at football tailgates and I am not trying to smoke Bar-B-Q for 27 hours beside the coach, but to grill meats and other grilled items, this grill does the job and is powered by small canisters of gas that are easily available at WalMarts and Lowes and virtually all stores that sell grills of any type.

Don't mean to hijack the OP thread but was thinking the same thing.

Since I'm a newbie, a grill is on my list of camping items. We used the propane bottle portables on our boat and were looking for something different for the coach.

What do y'all think about an electric pellet grill? As a retailer, I can get a great deal on a grill from Traeger. The Tailgater ses 5 amps to start then 1 amp to cook. 37"L x 18"D @ 62# with foldable legs. They recommend a 400 watt inverter, so the 2000 watt in the coach is plenty.

Are there any pitfalls to this route that anyone can think of? The few times we hav e camped, the grill at the site left much to be desired and DW said no cooking there! The cost for me is equal to or less than a Weber BabyQ with the stand added to the cost of the grill.

Chuck I agree. I'd love to have a smoker and looked at the Green Mtn noted above. Problem is it's heavy compared to the Weber - and I agree the Weber works really well.

A smoker it isn't but I have added chips in foil and gotten a smoky flavor using the lowest heat setting. Grilling takes priority.

Traeger tailgater

I mounted my Traeger Tailgater on the basement slideout where the refrigerator was located ( we did not use fridge anyway). Very tidy and clean hookup
I roll it out and turn it on. It takes about 5-10 minutes to fully heat. Indirect
heat makes burning a piece of meat pretty much impossible. Also fabulous smoked flavor. We use it for steaks, chicken, pork loin, tri tip, and salmon.
Could not be happier.....

We carry both a Weber Q2200 and a Green Mountain Grill Davy Crockett pellet grill. In my opinion this is the best of both worlds, low and slow smoking for ribs, pulled pork and brisket and absolutely the best chicken on the pellet grill, and everything else on the Q.

I too thought about taking out the portable refrigerator/freezer and using the slide for the Davy Crockett, but that is where I'm thinking of keeping our wine!

Where are you figuring your are going to put that monster? That is going to take a LOT of space and be a real mess to put in the basement. Maybe your toad is a pick up truck and you are going to ride it there.
