A while back we remember someone talking about an RV resort someplace in the mountains of Western NC (probably south west of Ashville)/north west SC and eastern TN. The problem is we can't remember exactly where and obviously can't remember the name. Can anyone provide the name and/or any recommendations for RV Campgrounds that can accommodate rigs as big as ours with nice views of the mountains and/or lakes or rivers? We are currently staying at the Down By The River Campground in Pineola and while very nice they have some restrictive rules that at least for us pretty much rules out coming back. That said the setting is very nice and the campground is exceptionally well maintained. It seems that most of the "campers" are retirees who come here from FL for the summer.

Any help on other recommendations and the name of the RV resort we are trying to remember would be greatly appreciated. BTW, we remember reading that there are 2 ways to the campground; one of which is not particularly good for large RV rigs.

We followed Jim’s progress on another forum as they built this out last year. Looks beautiful and we are re evaluating our summer/fall plans to squeeze a week or two there.

Any tips on navigating Black Mountain heading into the western NC mountains on I-40? I been reading the posts and have not had the MH to the mountains yet. Thanks

We have driven car that way a few times. Saw many RV's. It is also a major interstate route for trucks.

Not the newest, widest, or smoothest interstate but you shouldn't have any issues. You won't be the fastest going up, but will likely not be the slowest either.

Stay in your comfort zone, be safe.
