Well, after closer inspection this afternoon, I am the proud owner of a 6 bladed A model fan, a B model, and a C model. Maybe the 2016 models will have the D model fan blades??? Will call RVP tomorrow

Who knows Chuck, maybe we were randomly selected to do a blind test and that's why we have 3 different fan blades Hopefully replacing the 6 bladed one over the bedroom gets rid of the roosting bird sound.

Just got off the phone with RVP. Ordered 3 new D model fans. According to the tech I talked with, they just finished packaging the new D model fans for shipment today. How fortuitous for me . He laughed when I told him I had an A,B, and a C model. Anyway, asked about the need for the extra washer. Was told they are not needed. If the fan is striking the shroud, the A/C unit was over tightened during installation, causing the A/C unit to be lop-sided. I got the "special" pricing of $24.95 for the first fan and $14.95 for each additional fan ordered. RVP pays the shipping. Should be here in 3-4 business days

My 6 blades are noisy, but I am going to wait until the Ds have been run without those failing. Glad to hear they started shipping those today. I would like to hear some reports so I can change mine before our summer trip. Thanks for that update,

Chuck I've had my D blades for three months and so far they're doing fine. Noel

Great news Noel. That's right they did ship out some prototypes didn't they? If the D's have held up for 3 months, I guess they have the molding problems worked out. I will get a set ordered.

Chuck, I spent the winter in Az. I ran the new D blades for a good two months with no problem. I did have to use a fiber washer under the new blades because there wasn't enough clearance. Good luck.

I too have all 6 bladed fans. I don't find the noise objectionable, so am in no rush. Do we just call Coleman?

Fan blades
Was at the factory in Forrest city in sept. 2014!
They replaced the blades, no charge. Cut the noise in about half. Not sure what model blades they used. They are the three blade ones.

That would be the B model. If I were you I would get the new D model before you have one fail.

Chuck, I used nylon washers on mine. I believe the shaft size was 7/16, but I'm not sure. Wait until you get the fans to be sure. I believe the thickness was 1/8 in. The tips do run pretty close to the elect. box. When you call make sure they send you the piece called a "hat". It mounts on top of the elect box and the shroud sits on top of it to make sure the top doesn't raise. Before Phil, at RVP, retired he told me the tip clearance will increase with use, but I think that would be a small amount if any. Noel

Chuck - consider an LED upgrade for your AC fame. Spinning around, different colors - will make the overhead shots awesome. Just sayin'.
