Safety recall loose steering box
As some may recall, I have a loose steering box which was discovered during an alignment here at Josams in Orlando. Well, looks like it's also a recall item.

Thanks for the passing along the info. I have to schedule the toilet recall, so hopefully can get both done.

Loctite
I would like Spartan to use Loctite on all critical fasteners when they build the chassis. My 2019 has been at Charlotte, MI for three months for new rear housing because bolts came loose and destroyed it.

Bruce,
So you had a shock mount broken and now the steering gear is loose.
Better check every faster on the chassis, sounds this one got past final inspection.

Thanks, Richard. That is on my list for Josams tomorrow. A full chassis inspection and lube and Spartan is paying for it

I totally agree with you. Every time I work on something on this coach that has nuts or bolts, I use blue Loctite. The day i brought this rig home i removed the covers on the 3 Coleman A/C units, loosened every nut, bolt and screw, put blue loctite on them and retorqued them. I had issues with the A/C units on our 2016 Winnebago Tour, so was being proactive.
The bolts on the couplings on my steering shafts on our 2019 Aspire were all loose, so we had to find an authorized shop to correct the problem.
With this critical items not being secured, It makes me wonder if Spartan folks have any quality inspector on their assembly lines?

Does this recall problem result in fluid loss around the steer box?

This recall did not cause any leaks.

Today I checked for the problems in Advisory notice 21-003. I did not see anything amiss with the steering but the shock on the driver side was dangling loose. One bolt is broken and three bolts are missing. I’m surprised they use such small bolts.
Three of the bolts on PS could be tightened easily with a small socket wrench so I suspect lack of proper torque.
Does anyone have the specification for these bolts? I am thinking of doing a temporary fix so I can drive it to a Spartan repair place. They go into a threaded fitting, not a nut, so exact size/thread are critical.
Picture available via email on request.
TIA

I had the same problem with my shock. It was repaired at Josams in Orlando. I hope we are not seeing a new trend. What ever the spec on the bolts are, go one step harder.

I have a 2021 London Aire, I crawled underneath and found all the shock bolts loose as well as the lower steering gear bolts! Many calls to Spartan and Newmar before they found a Dealer near me that would perform the recall. Most dealers are out 2-3 months, was told by Spartan that the first available appointment in Charlotte was mid August!!!
