Sagging Jack transport method

My left front Jack is dropping down on its own. Almost all of the way down in 24 hours. On looking at the foot plate I noted there were two holes, which fit smaller bolts. So I bought a eye hook bolt, put it through the hole and used 2 wire ties to hold it up for my drive home today. Pictures follow.

First is jack after sitting for one day.
second is my transport idea.

By the way I made sure all of the valves on the pump were tightly closed/open (not sure which but all in the same position) and I didn't see any fluid leak. Open to any suggestions on troubleshooting.

thanks

Van

Mine have huge springs to retract them.

We had a ‘drifting’ driver front jack on our 2019 Anthem. Much less severe than yours, maybe 1 inch/week. Turns out it was the control valve for the jack leaking from the pressurized side to the return internal to the valve (therefore no obvious leak). We were lucky, the other potential leak is the jack itself. Changing of the control valve was easy and only cost ~$120.

Equalizer help line was great, talked us through the troubleshooting between the control valve or jack. Once the control valve was identified as the problem they assisted in the steps to replace it. Simple do-it-yourself effort. I understand if the jack is the problem that the cost goes up considerably and the effort to replace a little more complicated.

You have double acting jacks, power up and power down, no springs needed.

You can also try fully extending them then retracting them a few times to blend any air out of them.

If that doesnt doesn't help, You either have a leak at the control bank for that retract valve, a speck of dirt will do that, or the internal piston seals are bypassing.

Check your fluid level as it can affect retraction of jacks. Most likely not your problem but I helped a fellow coach owner one time that could not retract his jacks and adding fluid made the jacks retract. His fluid was just slightly low. Since yours is just one jack it may not be your problem but doesn't hurt to check.

Find the mfg website and look for the manual and/ or a troubleshooting guide. Troubleshooting is best done in the proper order to rule various causes in or out.
Your double acting cylinders are a little more involved than single acting / spring return but hydraulics are fairly straightforward... just not something we face often.
