Salt Lake City / Where to stay ?
We will be visiting a Granddaughter in Salt Lake City this Fall and would like to stay nearby . We found Salt Lake City KOA and Pony Express RV Resort as the 2 closest . Comments or suggestions ?

We've stayed at Pony Express a couple of times. Large park with concrete pads. Nothing spectacular, but a nice clean park. The only downside that I remember was the laundry was out side the gate at the office area and up some stairs to the pool area. We loaded up in the car and went over to do laundry.

We have stayed at Mountain Shadow RV park several times and the KOA several times.
Our family lives in South Jordan so Mountain Shadow was closer.
However it is a bit tight and they have lawn sprinklers that go off everyday with extremely hard water that spots your coach so we switched to the KOA.

We stayed there last July. Don't remember a homeless tent area but a lot has happened since. It is large and we felt very secure. If you can get one with a patio table and umbrella it's quite comfortable but, not much room otherwise.

We stayed at Pony Express 2 years ago. Nice spot. As mentioned, concrete pads. Been to a lot of places since, but remember it being in kind of a commercial/industrial area.

Glad you did...we were very pleased with Pony Express and really appreciated the paved roads and sites. It’s not fancy but it was clean and secure.

We're big fans of the Pony Express, too. And there is a major truck stop across the highway. Very clean. Large spaces. Great view of the Wasatch! We stayed at the KOA once, many years ago, and yes there was a "tent city" across the street back then. The neighborhood did not look very welcoming, but the RV park itself was ok.
