Satellite question on Anthem
wanted to ask the forum if there is something in the 2014 anthem that needs to specially be done for dish network to work in the coach?
the system does come up on my tvs and shows searching for signal and never finds it. I called dish and had them re - boot my receiver and still nothing?
anything I might not be doing inside the coach I might be missing ?

Are you connecting to a Traveler or the stock dome? Has it ever worked before?

When I got a new receiver, I called Wineguard and had them walk me through the switch software upgrade. It took about 15 minutes. Also if you have not used dish before on the coach, you need to switch the dip switches on the roof from direct tv to dish settings.

Are the dip switches on the dome set for Direct TV Or Dish? Was this used by a previous owner? He may have the dome set for Direct.

That I don't know . That very well could be my problem. Where exactly is this switch that goes back and forth to direct or dish to check this possible issue?

You have to turn the satellite switch on above the entry door. On my 2013 anthem it's a green switch. But like the others said the dip switches inside the dome need to be set for dish also. The settings for DTV and for Dish should be in your manual. When your searching for signal with the dome you'll definately hear it inside the coach

I can't tell from your posting if your system previously worked and then one day did not, or if you are changing vendors (from DirecTV to Dish), or if you just bought a unit and are setting up your Satellite the first time.
Assuming you are setting up your system for the first time using the stock in motion antenna.
1. As Corey indicated you must go on the roof and remove the dome and set the dip switches in the dome to configure for Dish. Replace dome.
2. You must run the menu and change the setup on the Winegard antenna box in your entertainment center to use a Dish receiver.
3. Connect a Dish receiver unit. Mine is the VP211k. It really helps if this box has previously been on line before at a fixed antenna location or tripod and is fully updated and authorized. It will work from zero connected to your dome, but it will take longer. Probably 45 mins.
4. Turn the green satellite switch on above the entry door. The control box should eventually show the satellite is locked onto a satellite.

You also need to make sure you have SW64 installed, as I previously stated. Regardless of the settings if you are not seeing it you must install it.

I have a King Dome in motion that was purchased right around 2011. Sometime in January 2014 or 2015 dish send out updates to all the boxes now my King Dome does not work. I contacted King Dome about the problem they said in order for me to get it working I would have to spend $600 to $800 of upgrades.

Did you try moving the dish? There can be no obstructions like trees or limbs. It has to be in the open view of the sky.
