Scanner tool

I know this has been discussed before but I can't find the thread.

For those that use scanner tools, what do you use? I have the 9 pin to OBDII cable, Torque app, and a BT scanner. It used to work fine but I can't remember which android app I used with it. I haven't used it in a year and now I can't get it to connect. I'm thinking it might be the $9.76 OBDII scanner I bought off of Amazon. The scanner works fine on my car.

What android app do you use? I'm thinking the pro Torque app should be J1939 compliant.

off the torque wiki...
Please note that your vehicle must be OBD2 compatible for the app to work, if the vehicle is not OBD2 compatible then the adapter will not be able to establish a connection to the ECU. (

I finally settled on a Autel ML529HD. This unit supports j1939 and j1708 which are both on my coach. Unfortunately I've not been able to find any of the ELM327 based products that support these protocols. It's not the best scanner but it's able to connect to the ECM, TCM, ABS, and VIM (chassis) controllers.
