What do you mean about updating your "MAC" system? Was that a mis-spelling or spelling correction? Not sure what you mean.

The only SD Card that I am aware of in most of our coaches is the SD card that maps and software for the GPS are stored on... is that what you mean? If so, I can tell you that pretty quickly.

Deb and Connie

The link that Chuck gave you will give you all the information but you will have to read through ( ) a hundred posts to get all the answers.

The SD card (there is only one in our buses to my knowledge) is in the metal box sitting on top of the jumble of wires directly under the faux wood panel in your dash right in front of the passenger seat (and beyond the door). Take a good strong light and look down near the bottom of the box and you will see a small black slot. The SD card is inserted in that slot. Once you see the slot (socket), push gently IN on the SD card and release and the SD card will pop out. Then you need the Rand McNally DOCK software program which is free and available from RandMcNally and an SD socket in a computer (or you need to buy a USM to card adapter (about $10) to plug into an SD socket and load the program and download any updates..... Easy -- peezy.

Oh, and look for that black almost flush socket on the side facing the passenger side (curbside) of the coach....

The long link Chuck gave you will fill in any blanks in my procedure.

Good luck

Gary

I would add that not only can you update the system by putting the SD card in your computer, but you can also import planned trips from the Rand McNally tripmaker web site.

The link I gave was a photo. Pictures speak louder than words.

Gary

It's a blessing ....... and a curse.

Sometimes I get too anal when insisting I stick to the planned route. I'm jealous that I can't do the "spur of the moment" changes.
I can and have done a "next day" route change, however. I modify the trip (again, in Trip Maker) the night before and export it again to the SD card.

Ken,

I agree. I spent most of my adult life fine planning every trip and vacation. Once we retired, it took years to get into the "go with the flow" and take it one day at a time. I almost never set a trip up in the GPS, but I will have researched every CG in a given radius of our intended stopping place the night before along with fueling stops.

So not as rigid as I used to be, but I just can't turn off being anal about it.

Steve

Sometimes anality is good, and sometimes an impediment

Freud outlined all of that now about a hundred years ago....
