Seats

We finally hit the road and I have one question (1st of many I am sure).
How comfortable are the driver and passenger seats in your coaches? After about 100 miles ours are butt killers.

Yup, that's why you will find a lot of owners have added additional padding in the seat and lumbar supports(I think the lumbar is a must)!

Mine are really comfy..........for about an hour. After three hours my but goes to sleep. After 5 hours I'm in pain. I bought a Forever Comfy seat cushion.( as seen on TV ) It's not forever comfy, only about an hour comfy. I'm going to visit Bradd and Hall next month.

Same issue here - I'm use to a firm "European style" driver's seat in my car. I'm not crazy about long drives sitting on the pillow-top.

I've been talking with Flexsteel about a replacement. I went to Tom Johnson's and sat in quite a number of coach driver seats - Newell/Newmars/AmCoach/etc. The one I liked by far the best was in a W'Tour (pictured below). It is Flexsteel model 267. I will likely order one for my Anthem in Boardwalk color Ultraleather.

I picked one up at Walmart on the way home from Entegra, the remaining 1,000 miles were fine.

In my old 1998 Chieftain I used to take the vent insert cushion out and sit on it. Worked pretty good!

Russ - I'm with you - my street car has Recaro seats and I can drive for hours in comfort. That Flexsteel 267 looks good. The W'Tour web page says they are standard with six way adjustable, power lumbar, massage and heat. Have you talked to a seat dealer to see if they can be ordered that way?

Lumbar would be fantastic.. In the photo you have I see no seat belt, are they an option? My Aspire has the seat belt integrated into the seat.

On another note, never ever point out how the passenger seat is wider than the drivers, I'm still hearing snive comments about calling the B&C fat.

Thanks for the model number. I prefer the more supportive seat in the Tour vs the "pillowy" seat in the Entegra. Now, if I can only match the UltraLeather color!

Had the same problem with the seat. Had Wade RV in Tampa put lumbar support in the back and new firm foam in the seat...big difference.

Mike - calling Monday .. Will report back. In initial conversations we discussed the seatbelt configuration on the Anthem and it was suggested that the model 267 could accommodate our needs.

Here's a web page with details. Looks as if all the support and adjustability is available. As to matching Ultraleather - no problem. Flexsteel makes our Anthem seats.

PS - I have Recaro seats in my car as well. Saw a Newell with a Recaro seat. It could not be rigged up for the Anthem without looking pretty odd.
