Security System
Learned another lesson today. I went to bed and reached up above my head to turn off the lights and set the coach alarm system. Pressed the arm button and the LED flashed but no beep from the security system.
Long story short. The 2 buttons above the bed for the security system are no different than your key fob. They are not hardwired to the security system. Using a fingernail I was able to pop the cover off and found 2 batteries inside. They are CR1616 3 volt batteries. Once I replaced these the buttons work like they should. I can only surmise that the batteries had enough voltage to illuminate the LEDs but their weak state reduced the signal range.
Hope this helps someone.
Safe travels

Regarding batteries, learned the hard way. The batteries in the remotes from the factory are not the best quality and sometimes have not worked on a brand new coach. if stored in any kind of heat, that finishes the batteries off. Wrote all of the button batteries numbers for the remotes down, made a trip to Harbor Freight and purchased four packs all of them. On my 19 I just used the last of the 2032 four pack. It didn't make it 2 years.

Good point about the heat. I keep spare batteries in a container but they are stored in the coach exposed to the heat. I did not however have the batteries required for the alarm system remote above the bed.

Harbor Freight batteries aren't the best quality. I tried theirs and ones from several different vendors, including the local Batteries Plus store. Costco sells both Duracell and the Kirkland house brand and appear to be the same, and much better than HF. The Batteries Plus ones didn't last any longer than Costco.

I have not seen the button batteries at Costco, I have looked. I have had good look with HF button batteries, but not better than Energizer at 4 times the price. Changing once a year before season the HF have worked perfect.

So I thought I would add my 2 cents here even though my experience does not relate to the button style battery. My Duracell AA and AAA batteries seem to leak more frequently than similar aged energizer. I guess, for me, anything but Duracell will be my battery of choice.
