I sometimes get that smell, even after sealing my washer trap, when I am dumping. My guess is that big whoosh you get dumping the tanks sometimes sucks the water from the p traps. I run some water in all the drains and it seems to go away. DW especially complains when I dump and also have the vent fans going which seems to pull in more of the "foul wind".

So we seldom run #3 A/C, but I've noticed that if it's running while I'm dumping the black tank I will get an odor that smells strongest near the laundry closet. It goes away pretty quick if I shut off #3 A/C. Although I haven't figured out what's causing it I've learned to control it by not running #3 while dumping black! Would like to have a solution.
