Shade motor wire colors?

Changing a windshield shade motor on the Aspire today, and of course wire colors are anything but standard.

Wires on the new "white perl" shade motor are black and red.

Wires on the original red shade motor are black and black with a gray stripe.

Entegra's wires are gray, and gray with a black stripe.

The red wire from the shade should go?

Temporarily hook the wires up if it runs the wrong way reverse the wires and connect them permanently. Reversing wires on a DC motor causes it to run the opposite way.

Yep, that's exactly what I just did when replace a shade assembly last week. If an MCD windshield shade, You may also see another set of wires which probably yellow. These are for an ignition lockout that prevents the night shade from going too far down while driving. You can just cut and eliminate those if not needed or desired.
