Shipshewana South. Route Decision

First time to Shipshewana South . We are heading west on I 90 looking for thoughts on getting off I 90 onto US 20 at Ohio 49 and travelling about 30 miles west on US 20. OR. Stay on I 90 to St Rte 9 south to 20 west.

All thoughts and suggestions welcome as we are leaving Conneaut, Oh tomorrow AM and arriving tomorrow PM.

Also doing factory tour Thursday and getting a first look at our Anthem 44 A .

Thanks for your thoughts.

Get on hwy 20 as soon as you can. I-90 will beat you to death on the Ohio turnpike. Hwy 20 is about 6 blocks south of Shipshewana South. Enjoy the factory tour and seeing you coach in production.

OK Thanks Chuck. I looked at US 20 on Google earth and is 2 lane road through the farmland which is just fine with us. There are a couple of towns to travel through but even those don't look to be a problem. So we'll get off on Ohio 49 onto US 20 and take that to Shipshewana. Will let all know how we made out after we arrive.

Here are our thoughts but first understand we were both raised in farming and owned the family farm for better then 40 yrs so to say the least we are comfortable on 2 lane roads with truck traffic and I have driven almost every combination type of truck for way too many years .

We were headed west on I 90 from New England and basically had enough of the Interstate so we got off just after the toll booths at Ohio/ Indiana line onto Ohio 49 for about a 1/4 mile to US 20 W and traveled 35 + miles to Ohio 5 and into Shipshewana South. We traveled through a couple of towns a lot of farmland and yes truck traffic but traffic flowed on this 2 lane road just fine and there were a lot of TT's & 5ers with a few motorhomes .

This may not be for everyone but it is very do-able !

Having done that road many times, it is sure our choice over the turnpike.
