Shore power outage Now A/C unit fan humms Nothing else happens

Entegra Odessy 2019:
We had a brief power interruption while running the Roof Air Conditioner (Coleman Mach 15) and then it stopped working.

Checked all the fuses and breakers (all good)
When we use the thermostat to turn the air conditioner on all that happens is a hum.
Also when we use the thermostat to run the fan only...just a hum.

Could the power outage have 1) "frozen" the fan, 2) caused a problem with the relay board or main control board 3) Capacitor OR is this "one weird coincidence" and there is a bearing worn or fan motor failure.

Steps to trouble shoot this problem or reset the A/C ??

All suggestions are appreciated. Remember this only happened after power was cut while running the A/C

First, check on everything else that was running at the time. Was there a storm or high winds in the area? Highlines on occasion come down and over-energize the secondaries, burning out appliances. Just as lightning strikes can.

There are capacitors under the silver cover under the black cover. You can check those to see if you see any damage. I would try to manually spin the fan to see if it’s not hung up or free it up from a bad spot on the motor. If all that is good, you need to have the control board checked.

You didn’t mention if you are using a secondary surge protector. If you don’t have one, get one. Surge Guard, Progressive Industries, or Hughes all make very good units. Don’t rely on your internal protection.
Good luck with the A/C.

Do you possibly have a low voltage issue after power outage ? Have you tried to run AC off generator power ?

I agree - disconnect from shore power, start the generator, give it a couple of minutes to start passing power to the coach, then try the AC system.

I'm with Bobby and the start/run capacitor for the fan.

If you go up on roof, remove cover to AC unit and can get to where fan blade is. Have someone turn the power on and if fan does not start try and give it a spin. If it starts spinning then you new new capacitor.

Take something like a screwdriver to start the blade spinning. Don't put a finger in there.
