we're spoiled! We've looked at the smaller units but I love the ride and comfort of the larger coaches. I've found very few places I can't get into that I'd want to camp at. The smaller campgrounds have problems with trees scratching the coach so anything over 10 foot tall is a problem.

I want to strap ours on a barge and just float down the river like "Huck Finn". I did see a C130 for sale and thought the coach could fit in there but the wife wasn't amused. So narrow minded!

Years ago there were RV barge trips up the Mississippi River. They loaded a group of coaches on the barge and up the river they went. You lived in your coach while onboard. Discontinued in the late 90s or early 00s. Must have been fun.

About that same time they had rail trips, especially through Mexico. Loaded you on a flat car and off you went in your RV. As slides became standard the trips disappeared. Always wanted to take one of those but never did.

Rumor has it that New Aire will have a 35’ model with 450 for 2020

That would be the Corvette of MH's with a 450.

Not a rumor, fact. You can now order a 35’ luxury coach with 450 hp, adaptive cruise, collision mitigation etc. all high end amenities and finishes. The shorter market just got a lot more interesting.

I see a new 450 hp in my future. Our Aspire and Anthem we're great for FT while working remotely, but Entegra won't step up to the plate. A step up from a 2015 Anthem to a 2020 Newaire.

We really like the New Aire...but we couldn't get one with a king sized bed, and the tiny bathroom was hard to accept. We've only had one coach (our first) with just one sink. It didn't last six months. And we've never lived in a S&B without separate vanities. We like the idea of a smaller coach - just can't make the adjustment yet.

I imagine Entegra will make a move on this smaller luxury coach trend. Would be surprised if they don't have one by next year.

Have been toying with the idea of going smaller myself now that my kids are out of the house. Two rigs that I have on my radar are the Renegade Verona & Dynamax DX3. The Verona comes in a 34ft & 35ft model and the DX3 makes two 36ft models.

The big upside is you get a smaller rig capable of towing anything, which is not the case for all Class A's. The other big upside is you get a rig that can be easily worked on, this is huge as someone who has broken down twice while on the road.

The downside is that these Super C's are not quite as pimped out as they should be for the price. IMO these rigs are over priced for what you are getting. They are so popular right now, the manufactures are having zero problems selling them, and its next to impossible to find used ones, and the used ones you will find are selling for almost same price as new.

Crazy times right now.

If you’re in the market for a Super C, another brand to consider is ShowHauler - www.showhauler.com. They’re located in Middlebury, pretty much walking distance from Entegra.

When Amy & I were in shopping mode back in late 2016/early 2017, I took a serious look at a number of Super C’s. The tradeoffs versus a Class A diesel motorhome are interesting. You listed some of the plusses of a Super C. Another I’d add to your list is crash-worthiness. If you’re going to crash one of these big rigs, having that big engine up front would be a major advantage. Super C’s also tend to have more fresh water capacity and larger holding tanks than Class A’s.

The downsides are significantly less living space for a given length of motorhome and significantly less basement storage space because you have a driveshaft running through that area. With the engine up front, Super C’s are noisier while driving down the road than rear-engine Class A’s. Another consideration is that while some Super C’s are available with Allison automatic transmissions, others have “automated manual” transmissions which are a whole different driving experience.

Good luck with your evaluation and let us know what you end up doing.

Another big downside to the Super C is the turning radius is much worse than a Class A. My New Aire will turn inside my F150.

Don't forget to include the Foretravel "entry level" iC-37' in your search...They will have several floor plans available in the near future....Mid $550's
As an example, and there are several others in production with different floor plans.
