Yeah, but it sure is worth it in the wintertime.

And that is the truth! I haven't had spring start up problems with the S&B or the MH since we left Colorado 25 years ago. I sure feel for Vance, I have been there too many times, but mostly on rental properties.
But I-75 sure gets boring over and over

We have the leak fix in work!

Turns out there were 2 issues. The mixer valve has 2 outlets, since we don't have a tub the bottom outlet is capped. It felt like our cap was not a cap but a "field expedient" modification of a regular fitting. I couldn't visually confirm it because I dropped it into the wall when I took it off (tight working space). I replaced the cap then discovered a leak at the mixer cartridge. Lowes had the cartridge but with a handle shaft that is too long. Once again Entegra CS came through and Jacob is sending me the correct cartridge tomorrow, I should have it by Friday.

I can't say enough about how wonderful Entegra CS, Sabrina, Mike and Jacob, has been with this! They took ownership of the issue and worked it like it was their personal problem.

I won't be able to test the toilet, washer or dishwasher until this leak is fixed. None of them leak without use so I'm hoping they are all right. If the washer or dishwasher has an issue I will let Entegra address it when we get there mid-May.

Glad the fix is in the works and you were able to get to it Vance. Was the mixer valve split from freezing? Strange that the antifreeze did not prevent that.

Jacob is one of the best!! He sure helped me when he was at TS.

I don't know what the cause was. It doesn't seem like it got cold enough in Texas this winter to break brass. If the cold caused it we will have major issues when we fire up our dishwasher and washer. So far the cost is $14 so I'm not concerned about warranty coverage.

BTW, the shower was well winterized. We even had antifreeze in the shower pan when we picked it up yesterday.

Often my middle name is "anomaly." Kinda sucked in my prior life; "But no one else has ever seen that flight characteristic."
