Shower leak

I started de-winterizing the Anthem. I was a little concerned about the fridge, washer and dishwasher but everything else had lots of antifreeze run through it.

First thing i did was dump the antifreeze from the house filter housing.

I ran water through the hose to clear out the old water then hooked it up and started to run water through all the sinks and fridge. All was great. When I turned on the shower I could hear water gurgle but nothing came out. I walked around the coach and the water bay was flooded and water dripping off the wall. Called Entegra and Sabrina gave a couple suggestions of things to look at but I'm not comfortable removing part of the water bay panel and can't figure out how to get the hose coupling off the shower wall.

The shower was well winterized, there was still antifreeze on the shower floor.

I'm sure there's no financial reason it can't be repaired. :-)

Next year I'm clearing it all with air!

Vance, I HATE hearing that!! It sounds like it might be an elbow in the wall? You know me, I like air, no water.... no freeze. I wish I was closer to give you a hand removing the wet bay access.

That's why I like to use air also. After I blow everything out I leave all the faucets open to allow any water that may be left room to expand. Have never had a problem. Good luck and hope you get your repaired.

Is there access to the back of the shower control? You say, " how to get the hose coupling off the shower wall." Are you talking about a flexible shower hose or the control head itself?

Me, too! Sabrina said the top panel will come loose and I will be able to see further up but I think to get at anything I will have to pull the entire panel which has lots of electrical and plumbing.

I may end up just throwing $ at it and let someone that knows what they're doing fix it.

I need to run the dishwasher and washer before I have to pay 2 service calls!

The other side of the wall is a hutch in the kitchen, a lot would have to be dismantled to get at it.

The leak is between the on/off valve and the shower head so tearing apart the wet bay won't do any good.

Vance, I don't know about the Entegra (yet) but on the TS I could use an inspection mirrior and a high power flash light to see up inside the wall. The floor pan of the wet bay comes out pretty easy, just a lot of screws and caulking if you wanted to look up inside of the wall from under the coach.

Vance first thing I would do is pull the cover plate off where the shutoff valve is and see what you can see there. The leak may be in the control valve and can be fixed without tearing up anything. Noel

I think that is one of the things Sabrina tried to relay but what she said was the coupling where the hose connects at the wall.

I plan to check that first thing in the morning.

Chuck - If you left now you could be here right after I check that valve in the AM. You would be a little closer to Middlebury for your PDI.

Everything is closer than from SW FL. It take us a day just to get out of the state.
