Side Cameras

Our left side camera on our new 2018 Entegra Anthem seems to be frozen showing an old picture. When I examined the exterior side cameras I noticed that the lens are warm or hot to the touch even though the Infotainment System was not on.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any insight you can share?

Thank you,
Beth Turner

In 3 years, I never had that happen. A call to EC customer service and possible referral to the manufacturer of the info-tainment center (can’t remember the name of the company) tomorrow is in order.

A reboot of the whole 12 volt system by killing the master switch by the door (“The Salesman switch”) is always something to try ..... 12 volt circuits sometimes get confused and turning them off and back on sometimes helps. Worth a try.

I had the same problem; the left camera image would freeze. I'd be going down the road and turned the left signal on and the white centerline wouldn't move or I had a view of my yard. I recall I had to restart the Xcite unit to "reboot". The problem eventually cured itself. Hate it when that happens. This occurred on my 2015 Anthem.

Side Cameras

Thank you guys for the responses. I will call EC tomorrow. I knew what great advice and help can be received here thus the post.

I will try doing the reboot today and also check to see if the cameras are still hot to the touch.

The frozen image we had is of the storage bay we keep the coach in.

We lost our previous motorhome to an electrical fire so I am probably extra cautious.

We just used our new Entegra for the first time and thoroughly enjoyed in.

When you get the solution, be sure and post back and tell us so we learn.

Do you have heated mirrors and are they turned on?

We do have heated mirrors, I will check to see if they were left on by mistake. Thank you!

On our first drive after taking delivery, our right side camera displayed the view that we had enjoyed during our stay in the dealer's delivery prep area. When we arrived at our destination, about 2 1/2 hours later (and about 2 hours after collecting our first rock chip in the windshield ), I discovered that the cover for the right side camera was missing. No visible damage to the camera lens or associated mount and wiring.

An email to the dealer resulted in the promise of a replacement camera cover.

I did cycle power to the camera system and the camera started displaying a live image.

That all happened less than a week ago and I haven't tried the camera since.

Take care,
Stu

It must be nice to be able to use the different cameras on your MH. We have a binder bounder classic and all 3 of the cameras are worthless. They are in Black and White. The rear view rolls and the worst thing is I can't take my eyes off the road long enough to figure out what's in the picture. That's my 2 cents worth. Have fun rvn

Problem solved!

We spoke with Entegra Tech Support today and they had us turn the breaker off, wait a minute then turn it back on...the camera was working fine after that.

The breaker is in the 4th bay on the door side. It's the bottom breaker that has a label that reads "Generator & Fender Compartment"

They said that the camera is warm to the touch as it always has power to it unless the breaker is off.

Thanks again for the responses and help!
