Silver lanyard

Does anyone know where the silver lanyard (in the wheel well)connects to on a 2016 Anthem? I did a quick purge yesterday and it seemed like nothing happened with that one. Red and green worked as usual. I’ve looked underneath but can’t seem to track or locate it. Thank you!

Lis,

The grey/silver lanyard connects to the "wet" or supply tank.

Referencing Spartans "Procedure for Draining Air System Tanks"...

Start engine, run at 1200 RPM until the air dryer purges at the back of the vehicle
Turn Coach off then back on to the "on" position. (gauges will function)

1st - Pull the grey/silver lanyard, (Wet Tank) - drain the tank completely, look at the gauges - they should NOT read zero. This indicates the check valve between the supply tank and primary tank is operating properly.

2nd - Pull the green lanyard, (Primary Tank) - check the gauges, rear air gauge SHOULD be reading zero and the front air gauge should NOT be reading zero. This indicates the check valve between the primary tank and secondary tanks are operating properly.

3rd - Pull the red cable, (Secondary Tank) - check the gauges, both front and rear gauges should be reading ZERO

Not following the procedure may have emptied the "Wet Tank" by the time you pulled the cord.

I tried attaching the 2 page procedure from Spartan but the file was too large, if you, or anyone who would like it, sends me an E-mail - johnrugarber@gmail.com I can pass the information along.

I hope this was helpful!

Thanks for the replies. We parked, and I pulled the silver lanyard for a few seconds did not notice anything. Pulled green, air came out for a couple, pulled red, air came out for a couple seconds. Same procedure as always. I wasn’t trying to do the full tank draining procedure. Wondering if it has disconnected somewhere, I can’t find where it leads to. Could it disconnect??

Mine is like that also. Nothing from the silver. It sat for two weeks before I pulled it, so I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it.

No issues at all. I just found that strange. We’re here for the winter so on our monthly ride around I’ll do the
check again. But could it have come undone- I don’t know where to find the wet tank. I’ve already been under there and couldn’t determine it’s location.

Lisa, did you try following the cable back to the air tank? Something the angle of the cable to the tank makes it difficult to open the bleeder valve.

Sure, the wet tank is the smallest tank and has no gauge. It could have been empty.

I looked all around but couldn’t locate the tank, I don’t really like being under the coach so it probably wasn’t a real thorough look. I’ll try again. I’ve always heard a noise when pulling that lanyard so I was concerned when nothing happened. But maybe if could have been empty already? Some people have said the tanks are located up front- can anyone confirm? Thanks!

FYI, I had to reroute my lanyards because they were catching and not opening the valves on the tank.

Not sure about a Reatta. Typically located in the front wheel well, passenger side. If you have a awning hook, you can use that to operate. They are sometimes covered with rust proofing and the colors are hard to distinguish.

Another location on some models ('18 Anthem 42DEQ) is in the passenger side compartment where the DEF tank is located, just aft of the rear axle(s).

Take care,
Stu
