Sleep number bed air hose??

Has anyone disconnected the air hoses on their sleep number bed? I love a made bed, and semi make it every day .... but again, semi make it. Would love to make it look completely put together every day! Also, changing the sheets is a real PIA! So, I'm thinking maybe, I can get some plugs and plug up the air to be able to slide the mattress down. Thoughts??

Yes, I know I will need to put the air back in it when we change elevations.

With our last coach we swapped to a custom mattress and haven’t looked back.. wouldn’t go back that route.

The supply hoses in our old coach were only long enough to be able to slide the mattress a little bit (around a foot.)

Keep in mind there are actually 2 hoses if you have left and right controls.

The hose ends are a proprietary design and capping them would be difficult,if not impossible. Secondly, any unnecessary disconnection of the hoses is likely to loosen the fitment over time, resulting in leaks.

In short, I wouldn’t recommend what you’re suggesting as it may prove to be a problem down the road.

You can get extensions that are about 30 ". Makes it a lot easier to pull out about 2 feet.

That would work ... where do you get them? A SN store?

Chuck

Our 19 will let Dee pull the matress down far enough to be able to make the bed without any additional hoses. We could not do that with the 15 but the 19 pulls down a foot or two to facilitate the process.

Lynn, check under the bed to see if you have enough slack in the hoses to pull through the opening and they will lay down in the front of the mattress, out of the way. I can pull my mattress out 2 to 3 feet when changing sheets, and it makes it much easier. Mine had enough slack I could slide the mattress about 5', and I had to push some of the hoses back under the bed.

Unhooking the hoses is simple, just pull away from mattress, and snap back in place. Had to replace one of my chambers.

Thanks y'all .... I'm back at the RV and lifted the bed and crawled in there - yes, you are correct, there is plenty of hose there, it is just wrapped around the motor and zip tied. Got it all loose, and now I can move the whole mattress out enough to actually make it correctly! Again ... thank y'all!
