Slide corner trim pieces...

While inspecting things on, under and around the Coach, then hitting my head (again) on one of the corners of the slide I noticed that the corner trim pieces were a bit loose.
Looking closer it was apparent that there was minimal/no caulking along the edges. I'm sure that water intrusion over time in cold weather climates where expansion and/or contraction of water, forming ice, that has gotten in the opening in addition to warm climates where water could enter and facilitate the growth of mold along the bottom edge of the slide could cause some issues. Not to mention, the chance that the end cap could fall off completely after coming loose over time.

I've attached 3 pictures of how I sealed the edges using "painters tape" and standard clear caulking to hopefully eliminate any occurrence. I hadn't thought of using Entegra's factory sealant at the time, it had been identified at the Spartan Class by P.J. although I forgot the product name but, I think any quality caulking available at a big box store would suffice.

Those corner pieces are just stuck on with some sealant dabbed onto the insides. Had two pop off on our ‘15 Anthem. One already popped off and got crunched by slide closing after adjustment at PDI and another is loose on our ‘20 Anthem. I like what you did and will copy soon.
Here are my sealant notes from PJ’s talk at Tampa show earlier this year:

2020 and late model sealants (available Home Depot):
Use Nuflex 311 seam sealant on roof
If using Eternabond tape you must remove all original sealant

Gutter rails and everywhere else exterior and interior
Use Nuflex 302 100% silicone
Clear on gutter rails and color tinted as needed elsewhere

GrandPaPat,

That was exactly what I was looking for in my non-existent notes!
Nuflex - 311 & 302, I can see P.J. saying the words, just can't find the piece of paper I wrote it on.

Thanx you!

Hi Everyone,

We are in the process of applying Enternabond tape over the existing sealant on the roof of our 2015 Anthem. Based on extensive forum posts on the subject, we were under the impression the old material could remain for the pre-silicon classic coaches.

Is the Nuflex 302 mentioned in this thread still the recommended sidewall and gutter rails calk for the classic coaches?

Thanks,
Paul

Your best bet would be to give Entegra a call on Tuesday, I’m sure they would recommend the proper sealant to be used for that year Coach

The silicone sealant around the entire coach on my 14 was terrible and would have leaked without a doubt. Peeled off much of it and resealed it with standard GE clear silicone. It was holding up perfect when I sold the coach.

Your 2015 did not have silicone sealer on the roof. Entegra started using Nuflex 311 on the roof in 2016 for 2017 models.

Just ordered mine today. In stock and on the way.

Turns out they come in either white or black. Probably need painting either way.
