Slide motor/gear box - 2016 Anthem

Where do I find the slide motor/gear box for the large front slide on a 2016 Anthem? Upon arrival at campground, the slide made a loud metallic clanking sound when extending. I immediately stopped, came out about 2”, and retracted it. It retracted without issue or clanking sound. Is there anything I can check before heading to shop?

In the basement in the center of the slide will be a removable metal panel held on by a few screws. The motor is inside of that panel.

More than likely the motor mount bolts are loose. Been there done it. Before I realized problem, I had a broken motor gear.

If you do determine you need a new motor an Entegra dealer is your only source. The motor is proprietary. I found as have others that Motor Home Specialist are the most reasonable in price. I made tool which can be used to manually move the slide in and out in emergency situation. Should be able to find the post if you do a search.

When my motor failed it went out and made these grinding noise. It would not retract. My motor mount screws were very tight.

I would recommend you brace your slide from the inside with 2 x 4 before you travel. The built in brake on your motor could also be defective which could cause your slide to drift out.

Best of luck.

It was explained on my PDI on the 19 that they have all new high efficiency slide motors. I will try to remember to do a close inspection on those and take a photo, mainly to see if my spare shear pins fit.

Thank you. I found the motor, etc and could find anything that appeared loose or broken pins. I have a service appointment on Friday. Will let you know what I find out.

If you’re talking the large slide out on the driver side I am just replacing my slide motor now... I found it at beaver coach sales for 330.00 bucks... they told me the sprocket/ gears are all one unit.. my sprocket broke teeth..
The repair place was trying to tell me it was 1,050 bucks so be careful what they quote you... if I were to rewind this situation I would of ordered the motor my self to my house then paid a shop to swap it... jmo... also I gotta a 14 anthem not 16 so not sure if the motor is different in those years... I doubt it..

Service center replaced the motor. Seems motors are all the same on all slides. Slide works like a champ and now I know sound of one going bad/gone. Also learned that Entegra will not sell parts to non authorized Jayco service providers. Ugh.
