Slide topper ice

I wasn't able to clear the snow off my slide toppers after a sleet storm followed by 10-11" snow. My son came over today after it thawed a little and helped clear them. I didn't realize how thick and heavy the ice was despite cautions by several forum members. This is ice off the DS salon topper, which I had partially cleared! It warmed up all the way to 25 today!

Solution is to never venture from the Deep South or deep Southwest November to April!

Heated slide toppers would be a nice option in the "Arctic Package"

Huge education and experience on this trip. We aren't intimidated by cold or snow but we won't stay in it a month and a half again!

Vance, as new Entegra owners in the Midwest, we have followed your cold weather adventures closely. Nice to know what these coaches are capable of.

At this point, I think we will tire of the cold while walking the dogs, before the coach gives us problems.

Thanks, Steve

use a weed sprayer with de-icer. You can spray it from the ground and not have to get on top of the rig when it's slick

I have once found myself in Dallas/FW area when it decided to have an ice storm..... Same problem. Couldn't get the ice off my slide toppers completely even with ladder and several hours so had to cancel departure and stay around another day or two while it warmed up enough to get it completely off.... real pain. There are those on here to advocate that if you know that it is likely to have a huge ice storm or lots of snow that you pull all slides in before the storm hits or very early and then live "all in" for a day or whatever while the severe weather passes. I know that would have been hard for you to do for 6 weeks, but I have made a mental note to do exactly that if I ever find myself in a similar situation. I'd rather live cramped for 24 hours than put up with the hassle of trying to get it free of the slide toppers.

Love that huge TV sitting atop my nice fake fireplace..... Yes, that is a nice feature even when "all in".

The only thing the front TV good for is a very large GPS screen for the passenger (or the driver when the signal light is on.)

No it's not! Spend a night in an RBQ with the slides closed and the front TV is a blessing.

I guess it all depends on what floor plan you have. If your floorplan has the main TV mid coach looking forward, the front overhead TV comes in real handy in an all slides in situation.

Liquor cabinet is all thats required in a snow storm. TV is just a bonus.
