Slideout motor option to Klauber K01431B300

2021 Entegra Anthem 44F Superslide motor runs but grinding noise - zero slide retract.
Have seen discussions of optional motors from Amazon & Ebay referencing part no 529300 as option but do not know any owner that really is using the option-several have stated purchase of option as a standby motor for shortterm use but even then; noone states actual use.
Anyone out there using the alternative to Klauber k01431B300?

Yes, BUT, what i hope to learn is that Owners are actually using them rather than having them as a Spare for emergency.
Do you know anyone actually using one of the Amazon motors -they are not same spec of klauber.

Chuck,
I saw in that earlier post that you keep some spare shear pins.
I think that's a good idea, so I started looking for some. Maybe 5/16" X 1", but they appear to be called clevis pins, and with no reference to what material they are made of. So, how to tell if they are strong enough to run the slide, but will still shear before the gears? Am I over-thinking this?

Here's what I did. https://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/sli...ml#post2222920
I took one of my sheer pins and matched it up at Ace Hardware. Not the hardest as I wanted it to sheer.

Hi Curtis

I have it installed on my superslide and it’s been running fine for over a year. A little slow initially but it gets up and over the hump and in. I also purchased one as a spare just in case. I’m thinking about switching my bed slide Klauber motor with this one sine the bed requires significantly less power.

Hope that helps!!

Thanks! What coach & model do you have?
The afternarket model motor -called a 523900?
I also read Facebook group Entegra and found two owners that are using but state that if superslide is heavily loaded (pantry/refrigerator); the slide needs manly pushing to get over the “hump”.

I have a 2012 Aspire and the super slide has the residential refrigerator, dinette, fireplace and tv.

Hope that helps.

Motor RPM is essential

In addition to fit and current draw, make sure your replacement runs within two RPM of the original, no more. Otherwise, excessive torque can damage the gears.

My 2020 Superslide motor failed about a month ago. We were able to push while operating via the cell phone app and bring the slide in. It would still go out but the second attempt several days later same issue. It would not come in without human assistance. I bought 4 different Amazon motors all recommended by various people on Therese blogs. Even a $450 one. None would bring the Superslide in without assistance. I opened up the bad Klauber gearbox and found the failure. A gear bushing insert into the aluminum housing had elongated thus causing the gears to no longer align properly. My choice now was to buy the replacement from Entegra. The B300 Klauber motor. Guess what? It would not bring in the slide either. It would but you had to run the slide for a second or two multiple times to creep up the ramp and of course when it clears the ramp its an easy retract from that point. Several videos and emails to Entegra parts and service resulted in the belief that the new Klauber motor was not up to par. A new motor was sent to me and arrived today. To windy outside in Yuma today to change it out but that is scheduled for tomorrow. Still not sure why the slides move on metal to metal with no teflon runners or bearing surfaces but that’s the Entegra design that they continue to produce.

New Kkauber

One additional note. I always bring the slides in with the suspension aired up and the generator running or hooked up to shore power.

I will also not that we are full timers since 2022 thus the original Superslide Klauber motor brought the Superslide in over 500 times in 4 years.

Check the slide cavity for junk.

Pull it in the slide a foot or 2 and look under the rubber skirt.

I just removed a crushed almost used of roll of butyl tape from mine , built in 2015 so its been in there awhile.
