Sliding laundry door in 44B newer models

Hi all,

I wonder if any owner of the newer coaches that has the sliding laundry door in front of the washer/dryer might be able to tell me specifications and/or manufacturer for the hardware used for the door slide?

I don't believe it is a traditional barn door rail system, so was hoping a kind member here might be able to assist.

CS won't give up that information to me as it was not "factory fitted" to my 2016 Anthem 44B.

Cheers

- Andy

Tell them its a newer model and you lost the parts.
The PO of my coach did the conversion, works great.

You know I tried that but they said I had to provide a VIN for the model year before they would divulge the manufacturer of the slide mechanism!

Any other ideas greatly appreciated.

Cheers

They use standard drawer slides. I think they are 30”. My door interfered with the closet so replaced my sliding door with cabinet doors.

Go to MHSRV or NIRVC and get a vin off the dealer sticker. Harley Davidson used to vin protect their Screaming Eagle models and perhaps the still do. I never had problems getting protected parts. Seems strange that the laundry door slides would be an issue. Or I can go check for you tomorrow.

Here's a pic of the setup on a 2022 45b

The drawer slides look to be heavy duty 200 # rated 24 " long full extension. The thing that is special with the factory install is that the latching mechanism to keep the door closed while traveling is built into the slide itself. You would have to devise a latch to secure the door.

Ps,this is one of my next projects....

I put a hook and eye to the back wall to keep from sliding while traveling. Small brass one and hardy noticeable.

John, I would be interested in what you come up with.
I was thinking of getting two 160-170 degree hinges and replacing the existing ones on the left door only.
Figured that might be the easiest thing to do with the least amount of modifying.

You can change the doors to cabinet doors like Entegra used in everything before 2019.

I fully agree the hinges could use some upgrade. In my "classic. " as you pointed out, the left door when open still makes it a chore to get the laundry done. On the other hand, that same door can be open and I can pull my hanging clothes directly from the dryer and hang them up....something that the sliding door doesn't allow as it blocks 1/2 the closet access when opened . So, right now I'm imagining a combo of the two designs. I'll make a frame of lumber and mount it on drawer slides to mimic the new design. Then mount the existing hinged doors into the sliding frame to retain the original action. The concern I have is that adding structure and drawer slide will bring the sliding door closer to the toilet by about 1" and we all know it tight enough clearance as it is! another good thing will be moving that awkwardly placed toilet paper roll!

Hello John,

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002MMQM4M...v_ov_lig_dp_it

This link from Amazon is what I am considering for the left door. 170 degree swing. I won’t be able to order for a few weeks until we get to a new site.

My slide is functioning just fine. What is broken is the latching mechanism. I have looked at the mechanism but it is nothing I have seen before and it is not obvious how it latches or what part broke.

I absolutely don't understand the run around you say you are getting from Entegra CS or parts. The slide was installed by them at the factory (or wasn't it??) and if they installed it, they should have the specs on the unit and they should have them in stock, and they should be happy to sell one to you.... Did they seriously say they wouldn't sell you a replacement unit????... seems VERY strange! Call them again and transfer to parts this time and ask them for the part, price, shipping etc and let us know what they say.

Your laundry doors must hinged differently than mine. I have used the 170 deg hidden hinge you link to for the cabinet under the kitchen table and it's perfect there as it's designed to fit into a mortise in the door itself and when closed it protrudes about 1" into the interior of the cabinet. In my laundry cabinet I don't think I have enough space on the side of the machines to comfortably fit them. If you have the space and want to try them you might consider the surface mount style of the same 170 deg hinge.

Here's what is on my laundry doors...

Hope this helps!

The OP's door slides sideways left and right.
