My smell started in the kitchen also, then the rear toilet and shower. It is a raunchy smell

We got some bad water early 2019 and it was in the Aqua-hot. A way to check is to just run the hot water only to check for the smell. I started in the 1/2 bath then started at kitchen and the master bath. Used the service bulletin to mix the bleach "went with 75 ppm" for 8 hrs to clean everything. Worked but will take awhile - I did it over 2 days.

Ouch! Entegra had no answer for me other than they send the new units out empty. Since we bought the unit in Tampa where the water is not good and later went to Apopka where it is even worse, we figured that bad water (smelly) was impermiated in our system. They wanted $300 to sanitize our system but wouldn't guaranty results. That's when we decided to try it ourselves. Hope you figure it out.

Our 2019 has the same issue. In addition, there is the fizzy water that stinks until the fizz goes away( 10 seconds). I have tried sanitizing and changing the filters. It does this no matter where we hook up the water.

I also have the fizzy water when first turned on, but no smell. Also sanitized, flushed several times, removed filters, and still have the soda machine water. Figured one of these days it might go away. Must be something in the 19 plumbing as a few have reported fizzy water when first turned on.

I agree with the others, let the bleach water sit over night if the smell is bad. If that does not work, try another outside hose. I had a bad hose on the 14 from the factory but it was a plastic taste and smell.

We have a 2020 Cornerstone and experience the "fizzy water" but no bad smells. Have disinfected it a couple times. It's weird but appears harmless for now.


We see this for the most part in the kitchen so I'm going to try a test and put the bypass tube in the filter hookup and see what happens. After we get it out of the shop.



We only drink bottled water and don't use the ice maker so I'm not too worried about temp effects of the test.

We had a terrible smelly water problem when we first got our coach. treated with purogene which is what is certified by the govt to use in aircraft potable water systems. one treatment, completely cured the problem. Use it now in Spring when de Winterizing. Smell was so bad you couldn't use shower.

Mine is mainly in the 1/2 bath and main kitchen faucet. The small filter bypass is only connected the small drink water faucet and ice maker. Mine is bypassed now for storage and I still have the fizzy water.

We have fizzy water in the bathrooms but not in the kitchen or shower. Smell is at all faucets. Never heard of Purogene but will try to find some to try. After that we'll take a look at replacing the hose.

Don't have a small drink water faucet in kitchen. Filter services the whole sink and the refrigerator.

Linda, before replacing the hose, try your wash hose to see if the smell goes away. That is how I found that the hose was bad on my 14.

Another thing I don't know about the newer models, thanks. Looks like I am loosing the drinking water faucet on the 21.
