Snow on roof of Entegra
Does anyone know how much load the roof can take on the Entegra coaches. Obviously wet snow weighs more than dry, so does anyone have any knowledge on this question? At what point do we need to climb up and shovel it off with plastic shovel? We're currently in the Denver area and we're getting dumped on.

As an "aside", I wonder how many understand your on-line "handle"??
Get away from that stinkin snow ASAP.

Being of 1939 vintage, it has profound meaning to me. Necessary evil.

IMO the roof will be able to carry a fairly large snow load.
I would avoid going up to shovel it off as it will likely be very slippery. Using a ladder with a snow rake or push broom with a long handle will be much safer.

Yup, once in a blue moon someone recognizes the historical importance of our handle. It's pretty cool when someone brings it up. I actually have a piece of trinitite in our coach. Our youngest son was born on July 16, and we have a bonsai tree in the coach.

The problem will be with the slide toppers. If you brought the slides in before the storm you should be ok, if not you will need to remove most of the snow off the toppers before bringing them in.

I'd say 2 or 3 ft. of the stuff should be no problem using an avg. of 15 lb per cubic ft.. Your biggest risk of damage would come from getting on the roof with the shovel and where you step. Skylights and other material become brittle and easily crack. Also when covered with snow it's easy to forget where not to step.
In the days when we used to use the MH's in the winter snowmobilling more than in the summer and they stayed uncovered, we all learned our lessons with getting on the roof. Stay off unless you need to.

And I was a nuclear weapons officer in the Navy on a Ballistic Missile submarine, and worked with nukes for 40 years. I had to have those license plates on our coach and road.

Thanks so much for you service! And I love the relevance of your handle.

What is amazing is that your son was born July 16th!
Did you name him Trinity?
(snow on your slide toppers will stretch the fabric)

My roof can withstand about 110# SF, as that is what happens with each step I take when I'm up there.
I am not bashful about getting on the roof, or under the coach. With that said, no way am I getting up there in the snow.
I'm already exploring eco-friendly options for de-icing when we go skiing. Something like this..

Snow on roof of Entegra
This is what happens on slide toppers with snow-melt-freeze cycles over several days.

The answer is that you've stayed in the wrong place too long. Pack Up an drive south. These machines are designed to take us to places were the climate is not adverse.
