Has anyone received any information about the Spartan class June16-20? Where we park, where we go, what time class starts? Just wondering if info went out and I did not get it yet. Thank you!

I was at Spartan a few days ago, and I saw some Academy info posted on the board in the parking lot. As I recall, spaces were assigned based on which group you're in. I think there were 6 or 7 names listed. You park in the regular service lot (920 Reynolds Rd, Charlotte). Breakfast the first morning was 7:30 or so, as I recall. You enter the training area through the service office, I think. If not, it's the door in the front of the building just down from the service lounge. As long as you get there the day before, you'll be fine.

I'm pretty sure you'll get an email package...not a lot of details, but the info you need. Recommend if you're having any service done while you're there (like 44 point inspection, $100, I'd recommend getting with the service manager first thing Monday morning at 7 AM before class starts. The way he can work with you on the class stuff and anything you want to schedule.

Entry to class is through the service lounge door or the front. They'll likely assign you a parking place which you should get a week or two before you're scheduled to get there...again via email.

APPOINTMENT DATE AND TIME:
June 16, 2014.
Please be ready at 7:00 a.m. (Depending upon our carry over appointments from the previous day, it may be later than 7:00 a.m. until we start your repairs.)
Repair orders may possibly be pre-written depending upon work load if arriving before 4:00 p.m. the day before appointment.
Office hours are Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. & Factory Service Garage hours are Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

LOCATION:
Attached you will find a map for your convenience.
Service Garage is located at Plant 1, address is 1000 Reynolds Rd.

Overnight/staging address is 920 Reynolds Rd. This is a horseshoe driveway right before the Plant (first driveway on right). Please park here prior to appointment. Please leave coach in overnight/staging area unless instructed otherwise.
50 Amp (no water or sewer) hook-ups available for your visit. Attached you will find our local dump station information.

Customer lounge is located by following the yellow steps to the north end entrance of Plant 1. The lounge is pet friendly, but please do not allow pets on any furniture.

SERVICE/VISIT INFORMATION:
Please have black/gray water tanks mostly empty.
Please have slides retracted and power cord unhooked the morning of the appointment.
Please remove all external items limiting access to engine compartment before service.
Access is restricted during service work, please acquire needed items beforehand.
All fenced in areas are also restricted.
Tow vehicle suggested as there are no close restaurants/stores.
Wi-Fi is available in the customer lounge. Please see postings in the lounge for password information.

That's the standard letter for service appointments. I think you're going to get something else for the Academy.

I exchanged emails with Spartan about the Academy a couple of weeks ago. They confirmed that we will be receiving an email with Academy specific information. In the meantime, they said we can come in and hook up as early as Saturday before the Academy class begins and stay until the Sunday after. Not sure how that might work if there are Academy programs back to back. Looking forward to meeting the attendees for the 16 June program.

Just be aware that the parking is electric only. You can pull up to the front of the building to connect to a hose bib, but you need to go to the fairgrounds to dump. They may arrange for a mid-week dump for the Academy. Not sure about that, as I don't see it on the website.

I don't think they ever do Academy programs back to back. Plays havoc with their service schedule. The next program after yours is July 7-11. See Spartan Chassis

They did have a dump service come in on Wed or Thursday. For us, if you were in service, they just came around to the service bay.

Does suck everything out...sometimes pea traps too, so sewer smell unless you get fluid back in your sinks to put water pack in the pea traps. JME

Linda & I will also be there for the session starting June 16. Looking forward to meeting y'all! We'll be heading out from RI next week, first stop in Middlebury for our PDI. Today our bus is in a local shop here with a few chassis issues that needed to be addressed before making the 1000 mile trip. See you there!
