Under hood images of M&G on 2014 JKU
After reading several posts I think that I am going to go with the M&G system.
One issue though is the space available between the master cylinder and a manifold on the jeep. The manifold has about 6 hard plumbed 1/4" lines. M&G indicated that this needs to be moved a couple of inches forward to allow the M&G to be installed.
I just don't see how this is possible. If anyone would have a jeep around the same model year and would be kind enough to take a couple of pics showing the location of the M&G and its clearance to the manifold that they can email me or post in this thread I would really appreciate it.
I will say in speaking with M&G they did not see an issue, but as I look at it I am not seeing a path to success.
Regards,
Jim

One, 700 bucks seems quite high for an air tank reservoir. Just looking at all of the small air compressor tanks out there selling for under 200 bucks seems to reinforce that it a bit out of line.
Two, the additional labor to install it can be a couple hundred bucks.
Three, both the M&G and AF1 have been installed on countless coaches without this tank being an issue.
If this is so critical it really does seem that Spartan should include it on coaches from Entegra as it is really these mid range coaches where you would think an M&G or AF1 would be used. In fact, in thinking about it, Entegra could insist that it be on the chassis.
The info I am getting is that the Newmar coaches on the Spartan will have this on the chassis as a standard item. Not sure if that is fact, but something I will sure look into. If so, where is Entegra stance on this, sure would rather have the tank in lieu of some of the motorized engine cover.
A question I have is there an alternative to getting this from Spartan. You would think that if it is such a major concern that M&G and SMI would be stating this in there literature as a requirement.
I know there are other choices for braking systems, but these two are some of the best. Just though I'd pass this along as I would like to hear what others have done.
Regards
Jim

I've done two installs on 2012 Wrangler Rubicons. There was a plastic wall in front of that unit so I removed it with a die grinder and cutting wheel. Then I lifted up the module., which was held in place by two grommeted holes. I drilled a new hole and moved the unit ahead, closer to the ECM so that the master cylinder had enough room to move ahead to allow the M&G unit to fit in between the master cylinder and brake booster. The steel lines bend enough and you don't even have to disconnect them.
Attached are the before and after images.

Spartan inspected my AF1 install last fall (it was SMI's standard kit for Spartan) and declared it good after changing where it tapped into the brake system (installed incorrectly by a truck shop subbed by RVOne in Orlando).

The AF1 tank system is an accepted substitute for the Spartan supplied equipment. You do not need both as they both do the same job to meet DOT requirements. Had my AF1 install reviewed and approved in person by Spartan personnel. AF1 does not affect Spartan warranty, just make sure you or your installer know how to properly install it.
