I'm glad i went with a proven winner with over 75 yrs experience.... FL..  Was a huge factor when picking a Chassis i planned on keeping a long time..

Entegra doesn't want to offer FL chassis cuz they're selling all they can make on Spartan. Seems like that may be changing...it is for me

That is why i have a spare Def head and the OTR diagnostic tool on board.

I find it amusing how we forget. In 2015 we had FL problems with the tag not welded straight then let’s not forget the fans exploding and shredding everything in the engine compartment.
14 coaches and 30 yrs been towed once due to FL fan fiasco. These def heads are a problem for sure. Those of you without a spare def head should have gotten one. It’s cheap insurance and it solves a huge problem. You couldn’t carry spare parts to deal with the FL tag axle and fan issues.
We need to be self sufficient and not rely on others

When we were shopping for a coach in 2014 we looked at all the brands. Then we found our 2015 Aspire with the Spartan frame. At that time it was a plus to have a Spartan but not anymore. They avoided to admit to the radiator problem, grease zerks stripped out of the axles and the radiator overflow tanks rusting out. Now the DEF heads and complete silence.
I would not buy another Spartan simply because they can't be trusted. They've proven too many times that they don't have the backs of the consumer.
Now Frieghtliner is putting passive steer tag axles on ALL the frames that are longer than 40 foot. Spartan is being outclassed.

My Cornerstone is parked until October when my new Freightliner arrives. Sad, but no longer have confidence in Spartan.

With regard to reporting a post, I looked & looked without finding a heading or link related to such a function or capability. Finally lucked into the answer.

I don’t have a spare def head. Thankfully, I have not needed one (yet). I have no idea what version def head I have. Maybe I am odd man out and I need to order one now. I will call NIRVC and give it a try. Any other recommendations on where I should try to get one ordered?

Let us know what you find. When I was at Spartan factory service two weeks ago they refused to sell me one since they were holding them for emergencies.
