Where is Spartan located?

Charlotte MI. Krafty, they also offer a Chassis owners course that is super...a little pricey, but IMHO worth it. How are your electrical issues coming????

Charlotte is about 2 hours north of Middlebury so convenient to arrange a visit to both while you're up that way.

That was our plan but it didn't quite work out for us. We may take a route through Middlebury on our way to Urbanna, VA in October.

Hey, if we don't see you in the Northwest, maybe you'll go through Middlebury the week of the 20th of Oct. If you think that's in the cards (Oct), call Joyce now. They're pretty booked, but I'm guessing with your situation, they'll try to accommodate. But I do know they are full the week before mine.

Dave,

Is the Chassis Owners course only available at Spartan's Charlotte, MI location, or can you take the course at a Spartan certified shop that is closer to home? How long is the course? You also said it is pricey...what does pricey look like?

Thanks for the input! This forum is just so valuable.

The course is only offered in Charlotte, MI. The last 2 years it has been $950/person which is a discount from the normal price.

The course is only held at Charlotte. You getting taught by the guys that have been building these chassis' for 20-30 years. The course lasts 3.5-4 days including a driving course for about two hours. In addition they run through you coach with you while the chassis is up on the rack and show you the stuff you've been looking at in class and on a bare chassis.

Price was $900...$850(last year...looks like it went up a hundred) if you joined Spartan Chassis Club under FMCA (so you also have to be a member of FMCA, but since we know your going to want to join FMCA to join ECOA, this discount is basically paying for most of those memberships.

It works well with a scheduled PDI at Middlebury the week before or after. It also works well if you want to spend a month and go on North to Petoskey/Traverse City/Empire area drink the summer...beautiful.

Adding to Dave's post - as I recall, it includes lunch and breakfast as well as a 50 amp site. There is one evening meal provided by the staff.

You get a book of materials from the class specific to your coach as well.

Lots of great hands on advice from the instructors. We will probably do it again now that some of the material will be more meaningful to us.
