I am not doubting what they told you but you can pick up the phone and call Love's and Speedco, like I did. We have enough folks on this forum that spend a lot of money at Loves and Speedco. I posted the numbers and if enough people contact them, this will not keep happening. Love's said, if they service diesels they will service ours. Call ahead and if there is a problem report it to Love's.

I guess my view is, while a couple hundred more, Cummins with Coach Care provides good service and checks other things. Maybe there is value, and if they are a coach care facility, hard to turn you away.

The other side is, both times I used Speedco, they wanted me to back in from the exit side of the facility...maybe that was just too much of a hassle.

The Indianapolis Speedco always had me drive in the exit because their oil change stuff is there, and that's where OTR trucks engine is located.
I had no problem with that, however waiting truck drivers did have a problem with me because they had to wait longer.

When I go to the Speedco close to us, I make sure I'm there before they open in the morning. They told me to do that so they could get me in and out before they got busy with the trucks.

Does this mean you could still get serviced if you brought your own filters?

Just stopped off at the Brunswick, GA location. Out in 45 minutes, no waiting. LOF (Rotella), differential fluid change (full syn), and fuel filters.

I brought with me my spare Lifeguard fuel filters because they didn't have any, they spun them on for $10/filter. They had a Lifeguard engine filter. Out for under $400. Very accommodating, but then I called ahead to confirm.

BTW, Tuscaloosa said they'd perform services on a MH.

Oops, I meant Cummins Fleetguard filters.

Also, because they are a truck shop be prepared to keep the interior of your rig clean, and watch your step. You drive it in & out, but they're floors are slick with diesel. The moment you step out things are slippery, and then when you get back in you're tracking it into your coach.

After following this post and othes regarding the "new" Speedco and the difficulty getting MH's serviced, filters, etc. I think I will start using plan B. After J.H.'s post regrading great service and price at a truck shop, it reminded me the last time I was at Palm Truck Center in Ft Myers (my Spartan warranty shop). They had a sign complete oil change with filters and lube $360. It looks like Speedco is now up there with my local truck shop and I can make an appointment for my convenience at Palm Truck Center. My last Speedco stop was almost a 2 hour wait and they did not have a Fleetgard oil filter, but Baldwin works fine for me.

Never having been to Florida I called around for these services at truck and RV shops. I couldn't find anything close to Speedco, and given I live in my RV regular shops are problematic getting the service scheduled around a tight Florida Winter route plan and waiting an entire day for the service.

Other shops would not spin a fuel filter on for $10 each. In total the prices I was quoted for the work I needed, and some quotes don't even involve the fuel filters were:
-Cummins, $1200, package deal LOF & diff & fuel filters
-LaMesa, $700 KOF & differential only
-Tallahassee Truck & RV, $600 LOF & diff
-North Trail RV, $1100, LOF & diff & fuel filter

I saved a minimum of $250 by using Speedco over the quotes I was given, as much as $700-$800, and Speedco didn't want to do the differential claiming the oil looked clean. I could have saved another $140.

They may not be for everyone, but my experience was rather good for the reasons I mentioned.

I was at Speedco in Duncan SC near Spartanburg on I-85 last month. When I asked about doing a RV the manager's reaction was like why would I even ask, sure they do rv's.

Oil, lube and Fleetguard filters(Oil and Fuel) $409.95.

I just changed my engine (450hp) and Onan for $180. Oil ran $80 (Rotella on sale at Sam’s) filers and grease $100. Took about 4 hrs. Most of that that time was getting out the ramps and making sure I got every grease fitting. Pretty dirty job. If I could find a competent shop to do it in the $400 range would let them do it. But if $750. would still do it myself.

Hi,
Here's another data point for those considering Speedco: I just called the Speedco in Aurora, Oregon and the service manager was very friendly and said they will service my diesel pusher motorhome.
He quoted me $480 for the LOF on my Cummins 5.9 using Shell Rotella and Fleetguard filters.
They are open 6am to midnight Mon-Fri, and 8am to 8pm on Sat & Sun.
It's first come, first serve, no reservations available.
