Speedco in Brunswick, Georgia

Does anyone have experience with this Speedco location?

We are going to be due for our 6 month chassis lube and will be near this location soon.

Thanks in advance!

I have visited Speedco in Bruswick, GA and in Slidell, LA. Very efficient, good service, inexpensive and highly recommended. However I cannot confirm that they lubed every item on the check list. They did not want to look at my lube diagram as supplied by Spartan, and my impression is that they do a generic type of lube job that hits the high spots and may miss others. I plan on doing service with Speedco every 2nd year, and using a Spartan service center in the alternate years.

Marc,

Could you send me the lube diagram you have for our coach? I received one from GARY JONES but it is not the correct one.

Ron.

I have no experience with them but nevertheless I'd drive another 300 miles and go to NIRVC in Atlanta...will be more expensive but their chassis specialist (Troy) is top notch. Also, depending on your timing you may be able to catch them at their new facility which promises to be very nice.

No tag on that diagram either. Does not seem right.

You're right. Apparently Spartan's documentation supplied with the coach is is incorrect. A phone call to Spartan would probably yield the correct info.

I will be using them late next week on my return trip to Florida. I will post a report once the service has been completed. My last service by Speedco was done last fall of 2015 over at the Lake Park GA facility on I-75.

That was done well except for having to wait 1-2 hours due to 3-4 big rig trucks waiting in line before me.

I used them about 18 months ago & lots can change in that time. I had a good experience at that location. I have heard reports that you can no longer go down in the service pit & observe.

Gary tried that with Spartan. No diagram for our coach. So hitting all zirks/lube points is a crap shoot with the tech.

I've used the Brunswick location quite a few years in a row. Hit and miss. Depends whose on duty. First few times was good then one time they removed front wheel cover looking for wet hub to check it and didn't get cover back on right and it was gone at the next stop. It's apparent that it's not a wet hub without removing the wheel cover.Last year was terrible with a bad supervisor that couldn't get a fuel filter lose after crushing it. Suggested I go to a diesel shop next door and see if they could get it off. Made the comment that I tightened it to much. I explained that it was installed there at last service and that I wasn't going anywhere with a crushed fuel filter that would probably leak.
Young guy that should have been the supervisor crawled under positioned the filter wrench properly and promptly removed and replaced the filter.

Forgot to mention they wouldn't even look at my lube diagram the last time. They also didn't ask me to verify torque on oil pan drain. It was apparent to me that the techs had no respect for the supervisor and were not doing good work because of it.

They did my first oil change and they were fantastic. It will now be my annual stop on the way home. Several RV parks within 2 miles makes a good overnight stop for service late in the day, or first thing in the morning.

I also had them install my Fumoto oil drain plug valve. No more worrying about someone stripping the drain plug, or if I want to change the oil myself as I will do this winter.
