Spongy floor

2015 Cornerstone: new to us- we have a section of mosaic tile that is “spongy” I can push on it, when we walk over it it’s spongy. Have any of you had this situation? I took video of if, I’m not sure how to add the video though.

Can't help with the floor, but to load a video, upload it on Youtube first, then post the link.

Likely rotten flooring. The fix is...... tear things apart, replace the rotten wood and build it back. Sounds easy, but depending on the extent of damage could be a long process. Neighbot got a TT really cheap, he has spend weeks replacing most of the floor and all the joists in the back half. Not difficult if you have a place to work, just takes time and money.

Thinking about the OP. Could this have been one of the coaches flooded at Dixie RV? They had several flood damaged that were wholesaled across the country. I think it was after one of the hurricanes in 2015.

I don’t know what’s causing your spongy spot, but I doubt it’s from rotten flooring. The floor is 3/4 in marine grade plywood.

Is it spongy or loose tiles? Loose tiles can be reattached using a product called fix a floor from home depot. Basically you drill some holes in the grout line and inject construction adhesive under the tile. Look for their youtube video. It worked in our bath.

I saw the pictures on Facebook, looks like tile loose and buckling.

I also saw the video on Facebook...nothing serious, loose mosaic tile. Nothing structurally wrong.

The search function is a wonderful thing, even on Facebook.
It's about the 5th one down now.

Thanks Chuck. Appreciate the link.

However, I have never known that there was an "Entegra" page on Facebook. Even if I knew there was an Entegra page, I would not likely ever visit Facebook and doubt that I will visit it again. Facebook is one of those "innovations" that have one or two very small purposes in life (e.g. finding a friend from high school that for some reason you want to reconnect with), but the rest of the 99% of stuff on Facebook is not only a waste of time, but as we now realize, a national disaster.... Would not make me unhappy to see it disappear into internet history. I'm likely to simply delete the whole thing from my files.

That spongy spot looks like lose tile to me. I would try the seal process mentioned by someone else earlier. If it was a water in plywood problem, the problem would be much larger than we see in this picture.

Gary, I remember people saying the same thing about Youtube many years ago. "who wants to go to a web site to watch home movies?" Now it is the the go to site for manufactures explaining their products, how to DIY videos, etc. If you look, Facebook is much the same. Entegra has a site there as do many manufactures that can offer help on a daily basis, some instantly.

Welcome to the real internet. It is just another avenue of communication for those that have leaned how to use it. I am not one of them sorry to say, but I can get around.

Unfortunately I believe Entegra has stopped using marine grade plywood. Its not in their literature any longer and I also remember asking someone at Entegra about it and their response was that its not being used. I'm pretty sure our 14' was marine grade but the 17' is not. They are using standard 3/4" 7-ply plywood main floor decking now. If they were using marine grade I would expect them to boast about it in the literature.
