Squeaks, Rattles, Opening Doors and Drawers

I am sure most are familiar with doors sliding and draws opening while traveling. An easy cure is to add magnets. They still open easily but keep everything in check whilst driving.

These work great and include double sided tape to position them a snap. You can find them on Amazon.

The door on our 2021 Anthem Rattles on anything less than perfect roads. I ran into a fellow Entegra Owner and he shared the fix. You need to pull the door in as far as you can and you do this by removing the four screws are the latch spring, 5/8" Wrench to remove the door one, remove the cover plate (Black Plastic) (2 screws) and then the 6 screws holding the latch mechanism in place.

The latch will pry out - remove the scotch tape on both sides and be careful not to lose the pin that holds the adjustment gears (on both sides). Notice where the small hole in each gear points by marking and remove the pin and gears. You can now push the latch into position and replace the gears (rotate them to fit).

Next comes the air operated latch that closes (moves upward) when you put the coach in gear to lock the door in place. If it rattles use an allen wrench to tighten up a turn. Next remove the four screw and reposition so they are tighter.

Another fixes for squeaks, rattles, opening drawers and doors?

Never had to do that door manipulation on my coach.... door doesn't rattle and never has.

I guess coaches arrive with different problems. That is why I always plan to stay at the dealer for 4 or 5 days after delivery and I take short trips out on the road to see what works and what doesn't, what rattles and needs tightening etc etc. When you are a new owner, I make sure that the head of service knows I am there and that I will be presenting them a list of little fixes that they might have missed in the PDI to fix while I am there.

Of course, a good dealer actually does a complete and comprehensive PDI and has most of that stuff fixed before I ever arrive to pick up the coach.

That same adjustment will also fix, in some cases, door wind noise. It sounds more complicated than it is and much easier that making a trip to a dealer.

Just finished a test drive back to indoor storage and squeaks are all gone. Should have done this ages ago. Adding small magnets to doors/drawers, etc. also work great.

Added first of four LED strips yesterday (one down, three to go). They LED strip light channels come in 6' lengths with a cover that protects the LEDS from road gunk.

What specifically did you buy and where did you install them. I have wanted to install the LED strips down the driver side of the slide where for some darn reason Entegra seems to think that none of us might want them and have not yet found what you seem to have found.

Can you give me a specific product and supplier?

Gary

Also, I had a problem with my granite table top of coming out,.... had it happen two or three times. I added an second identical plastic latching lock. The original lock section screws had cracked the hardwood support under the table and had pulled loose, but the second identical lock now makes the table firm.

Hi Gary, I purchased a case of 10 6' Aluminum Channels with covers on eBay for just under $100. They come with straight and right angle connectors that connect the aluminum channel together. I used a sealant at all the joints to waterproof everything.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/265307187180?var=565162606727

The #6 1/2" Self-Taping Screws came from Amazon and were easy to install the tracks just behind the bay doors there is a steel which I assume is part of the storage bay assembly.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As for LEDs, also from Amazon and I went with Green/Blue (20m/65' strips) but a solid or multi-color version would be just as good. The kit has everything you need and it is waterproof. This is a RF Kit so very easy to turn off and on.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I drilled a 1/2" Hole in the first bay passenger side ran about 6" of the LED Strip into the bay and sealed everything up. The power supply is 110VAC you could run 12VDC just as easily. You want all wiring connections inside the bays to avoid issues later on. I also purchase a roll of 4- conductor 22awg wire to connect the driver side. You will need these connectors that attach to the LED Strip (you can cut them to length at the copper terminals).

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It is an easy do-it-yourself job and no soldiering needed (connectors about eliminate that).

To connect LED Strips together use these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I will install this inside as a backup to the remote:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Good Lighting!
