Squeaky Valance

The Valance on drivers side squeaks. I have not figured out how to stop it. Thought it was to tight against the wall and put a washer at the bottom to shim it out. It still squeaks at the top. The wall was also creaking and CS told me where to put some screws. Stopped that one. It is really irritating.

Check the screws and tighten them...that would be first and what DW did on her side. Mine was tight, so I think the squeak is back to under the strip of tape right in front of the slide where there are supposed to be screws top and bottom and every 16 inches in between. Mine where listing top and bottom (and several are now loose and it is squeaking again). PJ drove about three additional screws in about a year ago, which stopped the squeak. There are several things that it can be in addition to these...window, shades, etc.

I had a similar squeak in that area and it was actually the roller shade frame screws. Try wiggling the shade as you drive with your left hand. See if the squeak sounds the same. If so remove the six approx 3inch square head screws holding the shade to the cabinet. Use a helper. Lower the shade and rest it on the driver headrest. You can do it without cutting the electric wires. Remove (one at a time) the 4 small end screws that hold the shade bracket together. Re-tighten them with Locktite. Reinstall shade.

Jim, check the screws that hold the shade assy. up. The factory is using self tapping screws into wood and the screws don't have much to hold due to the self tapper making the hole so big. Mine fell out and I put #14 wood screws in to hold the shade up. When the screws started backing out the shade squeaked like crazy. Noel

Agree with all comments. You need to check the screws that attach the shade to the wood piece behind the cabinet. The passenger shade side on my 2013 ( since put split shade in) actually fell down as i was driving on I-80 on the way to Summerfest I.
My shades only had 4 tiny wood screws holding the whole assembly to the wood mounting area. I might add that this is not a very thick piece of wood. It is only 1/8 inch thick at the most. I added 8 more screws spaced evenly apart to the assembly
I do not want that thing dropping down again while driving down the highway.
