I have been using Starlink with my ‘21 Anthem for 2 months. Currently at West Yellowstone where it works great. But when there are trees or rock walls or other obstructions to the north it does not work or work well

We purchased Starlink because we need to have connectivity when we travel... still working and being business owners, we cannot be totally off-grid. Best choice that we made!

Speeds are incredibly fast... faster than my Comcast line at home.

Trees are your nemesis as others have pointed out. We still have it on the 75' cord so that we can move it around the campsite but will eventually purchase a mount so that we don't have to put it away all the time.

It does take time to sync, which is a bit annoying when you don't have a good spot and have to move it. Patience is the name of the game. Reminds me of the first GPS units for cars where you'd have to sit still for 5 minutes until it acquired satellites.

It doesn't work everywhere though so check the coverage maps.

All in all... the best option that we've found for Internet while traveling. We have the hotspot and have the Weboost RV antenna (helped with cellular but not data... still haven't figured that one out).

I looked at Starlink and others but I have 25 mbs on my Verizon phone and it has good coverage. I can set up a hot spot with a streaming device pretty well anywhere and get internet and TV for no additional fees. Until product like Starlink come down in price I'll stay with what I have. Happy Camping.

I guess it depends where a person travels…..we have been to many places where Verizon has NO signal or UNUSABLE internet at times. Not picking on Verizon…. The other carriers have been the same at different times….they can’t have a cell tower everywhere on earth.

Cellular has its place but nearly every cellular data plan has data limits. Starlink has no data limit that I know of. If there is one, it is high enough that it won’t affect the vast majority of users. This is especially important for streaming video, which burns through data extremely fast.

It takes less than 5 minutes to set up very easy

I seriously considered StarLink

The equipment is relatively inexpensive an the monthly fees are within home based internet services, however when I performed further research I discovered that most of the Eastern United States can only run on a limited, low speed service. If you live or only travel on the Western US, go for it.

We have had Starlink for three months. It is expensive, but we reduced our Dish subscription, because we can stream, and eliminated our AT&T hot spot, which reduced our " monthlies" by more than the cost of the Starlink. We can stream, have unlimited data and don't need anything but clear sky to the North.

When we get parked at a campsite, I pull the antenna out of the basement, place the antenna, hook the cable up to the antenna, and plug in the router. Two-three minutes later.we have internet. By not having a fixed mount on the coach, I can pick the clearest sky view.

Average download speed is 30-40mbps with typical latency of 55ms. We have been as far East as the Columbus, OH area, where our download speeds fell into the 10mbps range, which still allowed streaming without buffering.

For Entegra's - If you have the winegard WiFi extender installed - there should be a box in the basement with an ethernet port that goes up to the pepwave soho. Have been using this to connect the Starlink dish to the RV's Wifi and I've been using a tripod to place the disk to have the best view of the sky. I've gotten to the point now - if we are only staying for one night I would set it up. We been to 28 campground so far this year, been able to use Starlink "26 campground" more times that our Direct TV dish.

My box is located in the second to last bay ceiling. The white ethernet cable is from the Starlink dish.

We purchased the RV Starlink and we can now use use it. Currently, 2022, SL does not work above 57 degrees latitude. We are currently traveling through Alaska and Canada and are now below the 57 degrees latitude and it works great. I understand that SL will expand above 57 degrees in 2023. For now, I highly recommend it.

Why not just buy the RV version which is available now? Asking for a friend.

Got any pictures of the various mounting you use?

Got a question for the Starlink experts. I have Cox internet at my home in Southern CA and have no issues other than going over their cap from time to time. I work from home and so internet is important. Has anyone in a similar situation dumped their cable internet for Starlink? What part of the sky does the dish need to pint to? Thank you in advance.
