Stay right on beach

Has anybody stayed at Camp Gulf ( Miramar Beach)? It looks like the beach is virtually Right outside your windshield, a couple things. The times I’ve been to the beach sand gets everywhere and although it says it’s big rig friendly is it really? Should you have these rigs that close to the ocean? With the sand in the salt?

I can't speak to that particular campground, but we camp at sites by the beach whenever possible, so I can answer some of the questions.
Yes, absolutely, sand gets everywhere, including in the RV. We have one of those robotic cleaners in the RV. It's gets run multiple times per day at sites like that - or any very sandy site, and since we're in Florida there are lots of those.

Nothing man made really stands up well being that close to the beach, the salt air and semi-constant sand blasting WILL eventually cause wear and/or damage.
That said, you'll just be visiting not parking permanently. Give the rig a good wash after you leave, including the undercarriage, and you should be fine.

I have not stayed in the park but I have I am staying at Destin Beach RV resort a mile down hwy 98.

When I looked into Gulf Shore it appeared That all the beach front lots do not have sewer connection and the rest of the park appeared to be packed in.

Destin Beach RV resort is a really great location, one block to the beach. However, backing into these spots can be very challenging in some spots. I had 3 spotters and only had foot left over to swing the front of the bus around. If you stay here look at the park map and pick the easier spots to back into spot 27 is not one but there are a few in the corners aren’t bad.

If you stay at Gulf shores make sure you wipe your leveling jack struts down with WD 40 prior to retracting to get the salt and sand off.

Be sure to take the Destin Princess morning fishing charter (get up early, go to the boat to reserve a couple of good spots at the rear of the boat with small towels, and go have breakfast at the Waffle House near by), then fish your heart out, have the crew fillet your catch and have one of the restaurants right there make lunch for you with your fresh catch!!! (Great crew!)
Best memories ever with my son when he was 6!

We have stayed there and were up on I think the third level. After two days the coach was full of sand everywhere. I can only imagine if we were closer to the beach. We were able to get 45 ft in with little problem and little problem getting out.

I would go back again.

I wouldn’t stay anywhere near the beach if you plan on keeping your coach for any period of time! I lived on the beach, hence my forum name, built a house on the beach, spent a lot of time and money finding the best materials to build that house and in the end, lot’s of things failed due to exposure. With that said, which rv manufacturer builds their coaches with an exposure to salt spray in mind? In the end, it’s not the inconvenience of the sand, it’s the salt! If you don’t want your coach in the winter salt up north, why put it where the salt is the worst?

I would agree if I was a snowbird. We are full timers checking off boxes on our bucket list. We have never been interested in being parked side by side by side like sardines in a can in an RV Resort.
Too many places to go, people to see and things to do.
I didn't leave Corpus Christi without stopping in a RV capable car wash and thoroughly washing the entire coach paying particular attention to the undercarriage.

We stayed there last year. The front row is right on the sand. The beach is beautiful but the sites are TIGHT! Hopefully you'll like your neighbors. Also, you cannot rent the beach sites if you travel with a dog. County rule.

We stayed at Navarre Beach, close to that. The sand does get everywhere. The area is very nice though. Plenty of amenities, shopping, walmarts, etc. 'Enjoy!

We stayed at camp gulf last week. Beach front. Minimal sand. We placed a bamboo mat outside the door and kept a hose handy to wash feet at entry. I’d go back in a sec. Although no sewer hookup, the honey wagon for $10 (all tanks) is well worth it. You will love it.

Sorry, hit return too quickly. Lots of big rigs. Our neighbor was in a 42ft and did not have any problems getting out. They are very good at guiding to site and helping to get in position. Front wheels and basically in sand (although site is hard ground)
