Steering noise
I am trying to help my brother in law diagnose a problem. He has a 2017 Aspire and when he turns the steering wheel he hears a 'buzzing' noise. I am 400 miles from him so I told him to check his power steering fluid, which he has and all appears normal. He is not very mechanically inclined so I am questioning if he checked it properly, however I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and it was NOT the power steering fluid. He says it only occurs when turning the steering wheel, both driving down the road or sitting in his driveway.
Please let me know if someone has experienced a problem similar. He has around 3,000 miles on his Aspire.
Thanks.

It could be the PS pump. Low fluid, like you said, or a loose suction line and it's getting air. Tell him to run it a while, turning the steering wheel back and forth. Then go out and look in the reservoir to see if there are bubbles in there. There should not be many bubbles at all.
There most likely isn't a rubbed through spot on the line as it's pretty new.
Good luck.

This was a known problem in classics... 13 and 14 specific
But thought by now it was remedied.. that being said there is a specific reason it does this.. Entegra should know the fix...

How do you look for bubbles in the reservoir? The only reservoir I see is the big black tank with the little level indicator that is pulled up out of the top.

Take the filler cap/dip stick out and look down into the reservoir.
