Steps not retracting

Rah Roh Reorge.... My steps are not retracting. I checked for voltage at all the push in connectors. but could not find any. Step power was on and the door closed. They do not retract even when the ignition is on.

Any help appreciated

Sounds like either step motor or control module.

My 18 Anthems steps crapped the bed after two years. I would not be surprised if that is the case now. That said, I have to make sure that my voltage readings were correct.

Does anyone know how to isolate the problem? There is a main power line which drops from the floor of the coach and connects to a switch. Presumably the switch is an "AB" switch which connects to the motor and tells is which way to rotate in or out. I turned the step power on, closed the door and tried to read voltage from that drop. I got bupkis. Just not sure if that's the right place to check.

Check the fuse on the drivers side front compartment. Might be a circuit breaker on the newer modles.
Did anyone step on the step while it was still moving?

This morning my steps would go 3/4 the way in then stop. Fixed by spraying large amounts of lithium lube along the step slide rails to blow out grit and grime.

If yours are not moving at all issue is more likely fuse related.

The fuses are all good. Breaker? I was unaware there were breakers other than above the drivers seat.

Looks like a day on the phone with Entegra service.

Actually, the entire fuse panel is out, I have no accessories. There must be a master breaker somewhere?

Do you have a general wiring diagram for the coach? On ours, step power comes from the house batteries, and if the Salesman switch is off, you may not have motor power to the step motor.

Do the steps auto-retract with the ignition turned on? Kwikee-Lippert steps are set up to retract with a signal from the ignition switch.

Try a 12v reboot. Are the batteries charged?

Fixed. The main genny power line was pinched due to me not securing it on the housing prior to closing the access door. This caused the main breaker in bay 4 to trip. The breaker did it's job.
