Stinky slinky repair tip

Having finally received the corrugated hose for the macerator after a 6 month wait, I wanted to put it back better than factory. In my case, the fabric sleeve had detached from each end of the hose allowing the hose to be stretched such that it cracked after only about 5 years. Of course this resulted in the stinky slinky living up to it's name.

Pro tip. Use soapy water to soak the fabric sleeve prior to putting the hose back through. I tried at least 15 different way of putting that dang hose back through before this idea came. It worked very well.

Now the slinky is contained in the sleeve and the sleeve is properly attached to the macerator handle as well as the fitting in the bay so until it gets pulled too hard, there should be no more over extension.

Hallelujah and Good Night!

I'm confused. You are occasionally referring to the "slinky" but I am pretty sure that you are referring the corrugated Sanicon hose inside of the combined Sanicon hose with nylon outer protective sheath.... am I right? Or are you talking about some covering for the standard 3" plastic corrugated sewer hose that is often referred to as a "stinky-slinky" hose?

if the Sanicon hose, you are suggesting soaking the black sheath in soapy water before trying to thread it over the bare Sanicon hose?

I always thought the protective sheath on the Sanicon hose was made of nylon which should not stretch, but maybe the secret is simply the soapy water making it slide better......

Yes I am referring to the Sanicon hose. Yes the cover is not stretchable and is a very tight fit. And yes, it allows the hose to slide back through the nondistendable cover much more easy than any other way I could find. I tried several. I could not find any real good data from the manufacturer or elsewhere as to how to accomplish this procedure.
