FYI: Fits Perfectly behind the fireplace and actually improves sound quality.

Wasn't there a mod someplace describing how to remove the fireplace to make storage space behind the fireplace?

Strong finger and pull the frame off, or a plastic pry tool. 4 screw for the fireplace holding it in place, then it slides out. Always use towels to prevent scratching the wood cabinet.

There have been a couple for on the side of older models, the new models have larger fireplaces with no side panels. After I remove this one, I am going to see about putting the fireplace on drawer slides, then Velcro the wood trim on to where the fireplace can easily slide out for storage.

Mine is brad nailed, both the 14 and the 19. To avoid disturbing the putty covering the nail holes, that was the thought of using Velcro. Cut nail flush, then use Velcro strips. Another forum member did that and said it was working well.

The setup on the 18 & 19 is the same. It is Bose. No sub for the bedroom tv.
