When plugged into 30 amp shore power after about 4-5 hours the batteries are nearly fully charged, so one charger or two (it does not really matter) will only be using up to 2-3 AC amps of that 30 amp budget.
I am thinking of during the day when I am out touring the RV show, hence none of those items are being used except the fridge. Batteries can last a long time at that rate.

When trying to run 2 A/Cs on 30A service, an amp or two saved can make the difference and save you from blowing the breaker.

Hey Pat what will my 2016 do that the 16's can't do yet. Do you also have the single electric toilet that is extremely stingy on water use?

I'm not sure I quite understand your question. Is there a typo in there somewhere?

I know their EE does not.
The Magnum protocol is a simple RS-485 binary. The inverter sends its entire state in 20 bytes 10 times a second, the remote then sends all settings back right after in 20 bytes. Its actually extremely simple and the docs can be found online.

I wrote a web based monitor in my spare time using a $5 adapter and a raspberry pi. There is really no excuse, if it was my full time job and there was already a Ui framework for making screens it would probably take me a week to get all the settings working from the remote. Inverter on/off is the first bit of the first byte, charger on/off is the second bit. Shore amps is the 5th byte.

I'm sure it will come....but they still have much work to do.

I talked to Leon (Firefly) the other day, and he thinks they have a handle on the situation now, but have just started walking down that road. It will take some time, some negotiation, and some patience.

That part is easy, Entegra needs to take everything that the Magnum remote can do and replicate that in the Vegatouch.

Just to clarify for non Entegra owners, the 2017 Aspire (and presumably Insignia). Do not use the Vegatouch and have the standard ME-RC Magnum remote plus a standard Intellitec mini EMS to shed loads, starting with the Aquahot electric element and followed by the three AC units. Works great.

Also on all the 2017 models, another option if you desire to completely deactivate the Inverter and the charger, is to use the disconnect switches (round) in the electrical bay passenger side. That's best used for storage when no shore power is available, but fyi.

Just guessing but I believe all the other devices controlled by Vegatouch are RV-C protocol supported, but Magnum has been slow to support RV-C, hence the full control limitations with that device.

Update:

Thanks for all the great help and advice!

We have so far survived just fine with 30AMP.

Our strategy has been to only run one AC unit at a time and very carefully monitor our AMP usage.

We have the latest and greatest Vegatouch upgrade and so far have not needed to touch the inverter.

The only issue thus far which may or may not be related is that when we set the AGS the generator kicks on when the AC comes on even when sufficient power is available so we have had to disable the AGS.

Leon from Firefly stopped by our coach today and he is going to consult with his tech experts to see if this is a Vegatouch issue.

I had the same situation. AGS started Genny when A/C demand temperature was reached.

Glad to hear the field reports on the Vega system. Nice there are several together to compare notes and Firefly is there to have hand on experience. Perfect situation to get the bugs worked out.

Just for comparison. The title of this thread is "Surviving on 30 amp"

Those of us in the cheap seats , a.k.a. the parking lot of the Tampa Super-show are doing fine on "zero amps". Cool last night, max temp about 82. Charging the batteries this morning on the genny then off to see the carnival using the inverter maintaining our fridge.

Whats interesting looking around at the Tampa show yesterday is the lower end Firefly system with the little monochrome touch screen which is now being installed in entry/mid level diesels like the Fleetwood Discovery and Winnebago Forza seemed to have all the Magnum inverter settings available. It definitely had On/Off and max shore amps.

Check them out if your there.

Not sure if the electrical " vendor " at the Super Show is differnet then previuos years BUT we've never had such HIGH VOLTAGE issues before ( Thank Goodness for PI EMS 50 ) and this AM no power to 5 rows with a downed generator !

Great to have our own gennie and battery bank 👍

We have been on 30 amps at the Tampa show for 2 days. We run front and rear A/CS with both Fridges without any issues. The new upgrade Vega automatically turns off one inverter when on 30 amps. Leon from Firefly was in my coach yesterday to insure I had the latest software, which I do. The system automatically senses when you have 30 amps and also gives you the ability to dial back to 25 or lower to insure you don't trip a breaker. I think one of the issues today is lack of training/understanding of owners in how to use the system. At this point I find it works fine as long as we remember to turn off an a/c when using other appliances and use diesel hot water.
