What brand is the satellite dish? If it's a Winegard I believe they have kits to change from Dish Network to DirecTV and vice versa.

Here's what Winegard told me concerning the Winegard Travlr (does not apply to the dome Roadtrip antenna).
1. If your factory installed Travlr was DirecTV you can buy a kit consisting of a new reflector and feedhorn parts and convert to Dish for about $300. You also have to bypass some cables in the basement.
2. If your installed Travlr antenna is a Dish brand you have to change the turret assembly as well as the feedhorn and reflector, so it's cheaper just to buy a whole new unit. It has to do with how many LNB feeds are on the DirectTV unit.
If you want to change your factory dome antenna (Roadtrip) from Dish to DirecTv or visa Vera's it only requires a dip switch change under the dome and new receiver equipment.

What system
My Anthem was supplied with a direct system but I had already purchased 2 receivers so I had it changed to Dish. The account I use is a family member who has now changed to direct hence why I also need to change. I have the Traveler 1000 system

HEllo.... Hope the balloon fiesta is enjoyable. I still get balloon texts every morning on if the balloons are flying or not.
Anyhow, there are several threads on the whole process here on iRV2. Use the search box up at the top and use the default for iRV2 and you will now probably get a good search which will find the previous threads. There have been 4 or 5 in the past year.

Glenn, this might work as it is kind of what happened to me. My Anthem came with a DISH Traveler when they said it was DIRECT. I kept DISH and do Pay-As-You -Go when we travel. I already had the receiver from my previous MH. When we are finished traveling, just have service suspended.
I guess it is kind of six to one, half dozen of the other if you are connected to a family member.

Direct to dish
IT APPEARS FROM THE LITERATURE THAT NOW THE CS COMES WITH WINGARD TRAVELER DIRECT TV SATELLITE DISH(DOME). IS THIS THE ROTATING ANTENNA THAT OPERATES WHILE TRAVELING? OR AM I MISINTERPRETING THIS? IF SO WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO CHANGE THIS TO DISH? OR IS THE TRAVELER SOMETHING DIFFERENT?
THANK YOU

wingard travler
This is the system I have Winegard TRAV'LER RV Satellite Antennas - DIRECTV HD RV Antenna.
From what I have read the actual dish and the LMB arm with the 3 LMBs has to be replaced plus you have to plus the wires in the basement in a slightly different way, it's not a difficult job.

So to clarify, they (Anthem) replaced the SK-SWM3 with an SK-1000 and did not simply do the conversion to Dish. If you do have the SK-1000 antenna assembly, you cannot convert it to DirecTV, and would indeed have to replace the whole assembly. If Anthem "converted" the original DirecTV antenna instead of replacing it, then you can convert it back to DirecTV by reversing the conversion.
Travler conversion options are limited to:
SK-3005 or SK-SWM3 can be converted to SK-1000. If you keep the removed parts, it can be converted back to DirecTV.
SK-1000 at this point cannot be converted to anything. (At one time it was possible to convert to SK-3003 DirecTV standard def only. Since the SK-3003 has been discontinued for years, there are no conversion parts available either.)

Hey TV, thanks again for the help on the AC's. Here's a question about satellite TV that should be right up your alley. Is the Wingard travler for Direct TV the best all-round solution, or is there another setup y9ou would recommend?

If you want DirecTV, then yes the Travler is your best option. It gives you the most capabilities with DirecTV and if by some chance you want to switch to Dish later, that is still an option.

Great, thanks. I'll be ordering one as soon as I get my "money pit" fund built back up a bit!
