I purchased a dash cam for our Aspire 42DLQ. The cam starts recording as soon as power is applied, so I am looking for someplace in the dash to wire into which powers on when the ignition key is turned on. Unfortunatley The accessory plugs are always on, so those aren't an option. Any ideas?

Fuse #1 in the outside compartment is ignition hot. It is the TV and front shade fuse that stop the TV from working when the ignition is on. You can connect to any fuse that is ignition hot for what you are looking to do. The gauges are also ignition hot if you can locate that fuse. You could also wire the camera to a cigarette light plug and plug into a data port at start up.

Jerry,
Which dash am did you purchase? I've been looking a the Garmin.
I picked up a G1W for $58 from Amazon. If you google G1W dashcam, there are several very good reviews of it out there. It does not have built in GPS, but from what I've read, that does not help, and in fact, can possible hurt from a legal point of view.
