Thanks. If you just used regular rollers I can find those myself. I am trying to find some that will retract when you push down on them and are low profile but so far no luck. You are right about the top not falling back onto the base. The springs firmly lock it in place. It might tip if you put a lot of weight on the outside edge but otherwise it is very stable.

Here is the roller I used. We wanted the retractable but could not find any that would work. Now we are glad we did not find any, these raise the ottoman about 2 inches and make it much better to use as a table for meals, snacks or just propping up your feet. Works great for what we want, easy to install and to move around. Also easy to get your hand under it and slip a towel under an end when it is in its moving place and it stays put.

You can find locking wheels at big box stores like Lowes and Home Depot.
