Tag Axle

I have a 2019 Anthem 44b and I like to know to know exactly how to use the tag axle switch. It has the Hadley SAMS suspension system and a tag axle. The switch on drivers left console is marked on the front Auto, on the middle off and to the rear a momentary switch marked hold.

If I want to backup a curvy hill out of my driveway do I hit the switch once hold and back out of the driveway or do I have to hold it all the time Otherwise the tag will dump and not good of wear and tear of rock guard and close to Aqua Hot exhaust.

I want to keep the tag down is possible when backing up the hilly driveway.

As long as you leave it in auto it will dump anytime you put it in reverse. If you put it in off it will never dump. If you hold the momentary you can dump the tag anytime you’re under about 15 mph.

I echo Rollin101's statement. To answer your question, "If I want to backup a curvy hill...", you may want to consider "Hold" depending on the hill. Attached is an old picture of our driveway. The incline of that apron backing into the driveway is steeper than it looks in the picture, especially on the closest side. I always fully raise the suspension when backing in and pulling out, and place the tag in "Hold" when backing in to minimize the amount of flap drag when the tag meets the incline. I learned that from experience by how the flap on our previous Phaeton (which didn't have a tag) looked after a year of backing in.
