Test drive, Monday

My Insignia is arriving Monday morning. I plan to take a test drive in the afternoon so that I may uncover any alignment or other driving issues. Can anyone offer advice on what to look for? Any specific tests I should do, braking, etc?
We won't take delivery for a couple weeks so a full PDI won't happen on Monday. I've read a lot about Spartan not lubing the chassis. How can I verify whether or not that is the case here?

Thanks in advance

Watching te forum lately you have seen the most common items to check.

Here is the sticky at the top of the page with several good check list when that time come. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/ente...em-120941.html

As for the grease the only way to really tell is with a grease gun. Spartan has already admitted they do not ship chassis greased and ready for the road, just enough grease for assemble. Might as well figure it needs to be greased.

Door wind noise is a must for listening to. Keep the radio off during the test drive. Try to hit some overpass joints on the Interstate to check if the shocks are bottoming out (banging). Take your time and enjoy the ride, leave the new coach blinders at home.

Thanks, won't be doing a full PDI, just a shake out test drive looking for handling issues, alignment etc. The PDI will come later on

My Aspire which has the same chassis as the Insignia has three issues to go back to Spartan..

1. The power steering has a harmonic vibration through the steering wheel at dead idle

2. when I release the brake pedal I hear squawking sound from the right front

3. The interval wipers don't work as stated in the manual or on my previous coach....the control module which is under the coach and I can't get to it needs to bbe reset or replaced.

While none of the 3 are showstoppers...they drive me nuts.

I am looking forward to your report on how it handles. We hope to be purchasing one next month.

Drove up to Albany and test drove the Insignia. Very, very nice. The ride was smooth and quiet as a mouse, I mean whisper quiet! The seats are very comfortable and the brakes were excellent. I'm impressed beyond my expectations.
The only thing I didn't like, and it's minor, is the angle of the drivers position to the drivers mirror. A small part of it is cut off by the "A" pillar. Other than that I loved it.

Can't wait to pick it up in a couple weeks

Glad to hear such a great report. Hoping to be just a few weeks behind you in getting ours.

The mirror is adjustable. Swing the entire arm inside away from the pillar and see if that helps. I had to adjust mine inward to cut down on the wind noise. Someone had them to far out.

Glad you enjoyed the ride.

I'm glad your test drive went well. As far as the lubrication issue, just tell the dealer that a chassis lube is part of your deal. To verify if it was done you should see the grease squeeze out especially at the spindle kingpins and u-joints. Congradulations, good luck and drive it like you stole it.

Hi there did you got your issue repair?
I have got a brand new 2017 Aspire what a piece of junk
Steering Noise, Clunking noise everytime I turn, like the coach is moving.
Better yet My front tire driver side is about less then 1 inch from the fender and passenger center.
At spartan right now conclude that this coach is not sitting straight on the frame.
Water from the driver side this morning, I got 2015 tires on a 2017 coach.
Should I go on?????
I hope Entegra step up and by this lemon back .
