Thanks to the washing and DI rinse posts

Every time a washing post comes up, thankfully it's about once a year, I learn so many new tips and tricks and it gets me off my tail to try some new upgrades. Thought I would share what I have learned this time around. Thanks to all that shared and helped me upgrade to a better wash system.

If buying a small pressure washer to carry in the coach, do get one like the Ryobi that has the changeable tips instead of the fixed adjustable tip. Those are needed to add a soap cannon. Another new tip that I am really looking forward to trying, thanks Gary. My Harbor Freight washer does not have the changeable tips, but does come with a small soap unit. How well it works remains to be seen.
Another tip, watch for sales, they come up for $79. There are other brands with changeable tips, I think Walmart has one for $79.
Ryobi 1,600-PSI 1.2-GPM Electric Pressure Washer-RY141600 - The Home Depot

I have used DI rinse sticks for years, I'll still use one for the evening windshield wash,(it's fast and easy to get to) but upgrading to a canister for the entire coach is going to be nice. One unit, no more switching things around, set it up once and do the entire coach, wash and rinse spot free from one station. That is REALLY going to cut my wash time down. Thanks Ron for sharing the DuPont all in one canister in the DI unit post.

I have to thank Cruzer for his great tip on Meguiar’s #21 Synthetic Sealant. That I know it's going to make the spot free rinse much easier and nicer. And the shine is the best my coach has ever had.

One thing I forgot to add in the DI post, is this will all be connected to a water softener for better washing and tap water rinse before the DI rinse.

Chuck, great posts, working on building my own DI set up. Just wondering how Mark's tip on Meguiar’s #21 Synthetic Sealant stands up to the old standby of Liquid Glass.

Being an old car nut, I did a lot of checking on the car sites about the Meguiar's 21. Those guys raved about the ease of use and how long the shine lasted and those are guys that show cars try everything.

That was kind of what the post was about is how many new improvements we have had just in the past few years that make washing our hugh MH's much easier with a nicer finish. Others I going to have favorites and sharing those, I might even find something easier.

I now have a Gallon of the Aero Shine for quick spray washes thanks to this forum.

Does anybody know if there's any issue running hot water through a CR Spotless system? We have a single canister CR system we bought for the coach to do washes on the road & our Newmar has a hot water hose hookup up front. Up to this point I've only used cold water from house in double canister CR system when washing at home.

Thinking I might invest in electric pressure washer above & foam cannon to make washing on road even easier!

I have read the using hot water shortens the resin life in a DI rinse unit. I changed my outside shower to take a hose connection. (Another helpful post from Corey.) I can run warm water for the wash unit and cold for the DI rinse. The small pressure washer is worth the investment since they are now small enough to fit comfortably in the basement.

Thanks, if I don't turn on our Oasis hot water than the outlet runs cold. I'll play around with it and see maybe how much the hot water cuts into the life of the resin & adjust. I've heard the hot water really helps break up the bugs after a days drive.

The Entegra's Anthem and above have hot water from the engine coolant circulation through the Aqua Hot. Like you, the hot water bug wash is awesome and why I added that Mod to the wet bay. Connect the hose and I can wash the bugs off with hot water as soon as I park. I keep saying I am going to plumb the front connection like you have, I just haven't done it yet. Dutch Star Don is the one that got me started on the small pressure washer. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f103/inex...ct-258335.html

I think the Ryobi PW fan tip can be removed in favor of the QC tips.

It can, but the Harbor Freight pressure washer cannot, posted a link for that reason. A lesson I learned to be able to use a foam cannon, the PW must have changeable tips.

How did you swap out your outside shower to accept a hose bid. I want to do that too but forgot until now.

I see the links to the faucet and disconnects are no longer good. However, it is the same faucet that Entegra started installing in the 2016's.

Found the link for the disconnects, looking for the faucet. https://www.dwincorp.com/product/bra...-hose-fitting/

Here is the faucet. https://www.dwincorp.com/product/spr...r-hotcold-box/

I didn't use their hose, it was to short to reach the front of the MH to wash the bugs each evening. Instead I bought the same 50ft hose at Home Depot for $20. and purchased the adapter for $6. with the faucet. I just upgraded that curly hose to a Zone G hose. I'll see which one works better for bug washing on this trip.

BTW the Aqua Hot exhaust eats hoses with the faucet in that location. Don't ask me how I know.
